FS#2449 - Road maps: Distorted textures on stalagmites after map loading

Log in in a sector close to a map change towards a heightfield map and walk there, e.g. log in in bdouter (Bronze Doors) and go to bdroad2, or log in in bdroad2 and go to bdroad1.

You will often see some of the stalagmites (or fallen stalactites) with a distorted texture (gray, splintered, even changing while looking in different directions and distances).

After some combination of map loadings (which I could not reproduce again) it even happened that the Korogan gate (the hollowed stalagmite with the jade-green map loading portal inside) got misplaced, I could walk under it - and it was mistextured too.

Sorry if this was reported already, it is hard for me to search for it.

There were still some clashing names between bdroad1 and bdroad2, I made those unique. This fix will be available at the next art update.

Confirming. For me it looked like triangles changed to stretched texture when one of the vertices was (almost) out of the camera view.

Could it be a lightmap image from a different map being overlayed, e.g. from hydlaa_plaza (where way too many little objects have areas assigned as small triangles in the lightmaps)?

The overlaying texture is indeed a different shadowmap:

Interesting coincidence:

The maps where lightmaps appear as textures on stalagmites and on trees (the heightmap roads and the winch), are the same as those which crash PowerPCs with MacOS X. Is there a relation between “bindata” lightmaps and “same name texture” problems?

Checked with new maps. Issue remains.
