FS#3503 - NPC voices too low volume
NPC voices are really low. With npc volume set highest and music and ambient almost off, it is still difficult to follow.
Update: according to f-rd volume varies. I at least tried the ring of familiar and drinks in the deep quests.

Confirmed. Actually it is highly variable. Some voices are high enough, others are low and hence difficult to hear. Related to the 'quality' of the recording?
seems that ring of familiar and drinks are the same db however drinks sounds quieter, recording issue :( I say we pick one volume set and manually adjust to match it
IMO rings of familiar would be a good choice to normalize to.
If we could set the npc volume to a level that makes rings of familiar sound good I can take it from there
Having a "Volume amplify" tag for each quest would actually prolly be a better way to go
streaming from the client is not working, http://planeshift.sharktv.us/Ring_of_familiar_step1.wav.zip the wav's are fine however the spx have different volumes. We need a different way to deliver the audio.
Tested again with crosh (always fun :)) with all sounds at loudest, and the voice was clearly understandable (for as far as his drunken babling is understandable). Will close this.
