FS#176 - Walkaround when "You struggle under the weight of your inventory and must drop something"

When you get the message “You struggle under the weight of your inventory and must drop something”, it’s nevertheless possible to carry all your items without dropping anything.

You just have to devide stacked items equally between two slots. Example: you have 5 gold ores and put 3 chunks in the one slot and 2 in the other.

Then your character stands up and can move as usual until you equip/dequip something or sit down. In this case you need just to move the items a bit. In the example above: move one chunk from one slot to the other.

You can put your items back in one slot now without any problems.

I have tried this with gold ores and pieces of clacker meat. Here is a screenshot:

I hope I have managed to explain it properly.

Fixed.
Please test.

The bug is still there. Here’s a new screenshot:

This time I did it with iron ore and didn’t even have to devide it equally between the slots: 2 in the one and 5 in the other worked.

[edit]
When I got my second chunk after the one that caused the over-full inventory, the bug doesn’t work any more. In conclusion you can carry a bit more than your stats allow but not far too more.

You need to test it using the CVS server, not laanx.

I seeā€¦ That won’t be easy for me however as I will have to compile it first.
Could somebody else test this please? Thank you.

I just tested this in the latest cvs, it works correctly for me, though I never tested this before the fix.

I just tested with a CVS server, last updated a day before the fix, and I cannot reproduce it even then.

Caarrie commented on 02.09.2007 20:26
