FS#1582 - Entities don't get send to client after log in and no collision check.

After log in on laanx the entities around my char are all missing. They appear as soon as i move a bit and my client sends a DRUpdate.

This can also have worse effects when the client logged out while standing on a world item, such as a furnace. Upon login the character will stand on the ground. After a DRUpdate, the furnace will appear, and the character will be stuck in it.

Screenshots of the furnace symptom:

The correct term is "item" ;)

Verified with svn trunk. I spawned a table, did "/modify target collide true", then quit and logged in again… the map loaded first, then my character model, then any items in the map, so I logged in on the ground, then the table spawned on top of me.

With the table item, I could get out by moving (the character moved on top), but with the forge item I was stuck inside, and needed to use "/slide" to get out, though no doubt "/die" would work.

One possible solution might be to load all items with collision detection enabled before any characters, I don't know.

I just rescued a player from one of the furnaces near Harnquist because of this. He had climbed onto the furnace then logged off. When he logged back in he was stuck in the furnace. I tried and found from log in to when the item is drawn I have enough time to move to a safe spot.

Those players probably used a movement bug to climb that furnace, right? Those movement bugs have been fixed for the next release, so they wouldn't be able to climb any furnaces anymore. Next release also has "delayed mesh loading", so that may give you even more time to walk away before the furnace is drawn.

The underlying issue still remains Thom…even a small chair or table (an item you SHOULD be able to get atop) can trigger this bug).

Added a duplicate bug and expanded this bug to be more general. (This bug is actually a symptom of the real  bug 2058  which was marked a duplicate of this one).

Is this still the case? THere have been some changes in the order of having the char visible to others and loading.

I tested this by standing next to an NPC, logging out and then in again. I immediately saw the NPC upon login without having to take a step as before. So fixed.
