FS#6318 - NPC's Teleporting
Sometimes when I’m attacking NPCs with a spell, I’ll see the following messages:
“I failed to move, will teleport in 5 sec.” “I was teleported here, waiting 5 sec.” “now I located the spawn point.”
I’ve had this happen with rogues in Ojaveda and in the Sewers where there don’t appear to be any obstacles to their movement.
It’s really annoying to have to go track down the NPC to finish it off.
Here's the most recent occurrence. I was at bdoorsout -552.16, -257.07, -1779.03 on the large rock. A riverling followed me up. I jumped off and the riverling teleported just before I was able to kill it.
This primarily happens for 2 reason:
a) bug in the NPC movement;
b) lack of proper waypoint networking system or locations for the NPC to move about when fleeing-randomly moving in the area.
Point a) is adressed by other tickets, for b) the waypoint path is being expanded in the areas where regoins cannot be created or or a waypoint system is a better way to achieve the same result. It will be a middle term project.
As of now the waypoint system has been added in bronze doors area and the fortress area, not yet in the BD cave system.
Improved ojaveda waypoint network too.
Improved laanxdungeon waypoint network.
Improved bronze door waypoint network too.
