FS#717 - better way to tell if a fellow gm is visable or not
differentiation between visible and invisible characters by making invisible characters semi-transparent. It’s a lot easier to differentiate this way (as opposed to the label method, which is barely noticeable, especially at a distance).
as this is not going to be easy to add to the game lowering prority and severity, but if possible we would like some way to have this ingame
ID | Project | Summary | Priority | Severity | Assigned To | Progress | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1985 | PlaneShift | FS#1985 - List of all GM feature requests [or dev lvl requests] | Low | Aresilek Besolez |
This could be probably an interesting prospect task.
Kerol, is this something the gm team would appreciate? Having been in a few small events getting confused who was visible or not, I could think it would. Also, there is now the possibility to make chars transparent (when sneaking), so it does sound less difficult than before.
Totally. We've been asking for that ever since we're supposed to be invisible by default.
The white label color as it is now makes it impossible to determine whether another invisible has prepared the npc label color before actually going visible and it makes it difficult to determine who is in your group/guild when it comes to crowd-control in large events.
When you say you got confused in small events - in large events that is a real hurdle.
Edit: Not 100% sure if *transparency* is the ultimate solution here though since it could confuse people at a distance as well. Either way it should be some sort of permanent effect on the char to give a good visual clue.
Instead of invisibility do you think it would be reasonable to use a special aura?
I'm thinking of something like the Defensive Wind effect, with a specific color or effect.
