FS#1178 - Item drop on crafting transformation

After making a second blade (Q300), the blade will ?move? automaticaly to the inventory and dropped together with the one in the inventory to the ground. This will reappear with the following 300er blades too. Each one will cause a drop of all blades from the inventory to the ground.

Edit by Vornne: This is two seperate issues, one that unheated blades and handles seem not to have the “EQUIPABLE” or “LEFTHAND RIGHTHAND” flags set, and the other that all items of the same type are dropped if they cannot be equipped after a transformation, not only the item in hand.

Sorry, I don't understand this report. What is it exactly that you were doing?

Were you stacking crafted blades on top of each other, and they would drop on the ground?

Or were you heating them in the forge, and after the heating was completed you tried to drag them to your inventory and the blades dropped on the ground instead, taking another with it?

Or you were hammering a blade on the anvil and after it was done all your blades fell on the ground?

same happens with handles:

when making a 300q swords handles (heated steel ingots turning into handles on anvil) - if you have other handle(s) in inventory of same q they all get droped

system: item swords handle was dropped because it could not be equiped

OK, I understand the issue now. Setting new, and modifying description.

have been dismantling some handles and when got same only with steel ingots they all got equiped in my hand.

noticed that the 17th q300 sabre alpha blade and the ones after just ended up in inventory without the entire pile dropping from 'cant equip this'. Edit: when sharpening, the sabre blades kept dropping over 16 of the same q too. 'item sabre blade was dropped bacause it could not be equipped'. Every time i got a q300 it dropped every q300 sabre blade in inventory (stacked), including the one just made

Added  bug 1602  as dependency of this one and closed as duplicate. It was about ingots moving from inventory to autostack with ingots in hand.
BOth that bug and this one describe two problems:
1. after transformation items autostack with items in inventory
2. when autostacking, the complete stack does not stay in inventory, but moves to where it should not be (hand,…)

Don't know if this is important as additional information, but I tought I'd post it anyway:

the same happend to me today when I made a q300 dagger blade (after sharpening a dull q261 one), I got the "item dagger blade was dropped because it could not be equipped" message, and it dropped to the floor, together with one other q300 blade from my inventory.

I had yet another q300 dagger blade in my inventory, which didn't get dropped. Those two blades I had before sharpening were both stored in different sacks.

Orgonwukh commented on 15.03.2009 12:03

Today, I observed the following change: When a dagger blade got 300Q, 2(!) dagger blades were dropped. By doing this, once I created a 300Q blade, I duplicated them. I already duplicated 3 of them and will keep doing this to see if this is consistent. I am not exploiting this bug. Should I remove the duplicates or ask a dev/GM?

Maui commented on 15.03.2009 20:30

if you have already a Q300 daggerblade in your inventory it tries to stack them and put them in your hand but you can only take a single blade in your hand so it get dropped. it happens with shieldcrafting/axcrafting too.

fixed in stable and trunk r3839 stable r3840

Tested by changing Dough's valid_slots to "BULK", then getting 2 Batter, making one into Dough with the Table, it dropped so I picked it up, then made the second Dough; the first one stayed in the inventory, the one just made was dropped.

Is this how it is supposed to be? By fixing up valid_slots there should be no problems; if not, currently only the item being worked on would be dropped, not stacked then dropped; but I think it would be ideal if the item was put into the inventory, and only dropped if that's full.

weltall commented on 01.07.2009 14:29

you should try a not bugged transformation (eg on the test server). If you can't keep an item in your hands it gets dropped and that's right. the problem of this bug is that if you had items of the same quality in your inventory with the one you were working on it would stack with the inventory item and so be dropped as not being equipable anymore. while now it doesn't stack anymore so you can continue to work on an item without it stacking and so dropping (provided the data in the db is correct). If what you tried is on the test server data then please make a new report for bovek as it's a crafting/item stats data bug

No, that was my server, modded db; that's all I wanted to know, closing.
