FS#1621 - switching books in mind while crafting does not show an error

I started heating a knife blade in the forge with the book of blades in mind and then dragged/dropped the axemaker book in mind and started heating a small battle axe blade. A little while later the knife blade became heated and then the axe blade did as well.

Now my axe maker book is corrupt having blade making skills along with axe making ones but taking the book of blades out of mind should still have stopped the work on the knife blade.

Request a red warning message in the centre of the screen, when you do this.

Tested the original problem on the test server and couldn't reproduce it.

I noticed something else about this. I was baking some delta blades in preparation to fixing an axe blade and recycling some knife blades. I put all the knife blades in the forge and then switched to the axe book and put the axe blade into the forge. The knife blade completed the first stage heating but did not continue on to the second stage. The axe blade continued on to super-heated and then red hot.

The reason I haven’t tested this for so long, is that the test server does not allow anything in crafting containers for some reason (works with svn db), and I haven’t got around to creating another crafting skill for svn (there aren’t two similar processes that use different books).

Didn’t really verify this… I went on laanx, the test server is still not available; Started heating a Sabre Alpha Blade in the forge, got it to heated, then switched from “Book of Blades” to “Catalogue of Shields” (since I don’t have an axe making book); and I made a pile of dust.

I don’t see how the result could be any better, the forge burns things up if you don’t have the correct book in mind anyway… do you want it to automatically transfer the items out?

I can test this more thoroughly laterr with the test server though.

Hmm it may be that my results in this are related to http://www.hydlaa.com/flyspray_upgrade/index.php?do=details&task_id=1581 as my axe book allows for working with sword and knife blades. I would think that you ought to get a message along the lines of you stop working on x you start working on x you do not know what will happen to x when you remove the x related book instead of seamlessly going into the next process. I have not really tried this since 0.4 though. I will try to reproduce most of my bugs in the next couple weeks.

I’ll make it a feature request for a big warning message then; If you disagree, I can set this back to bug report and change the description to whatever you want :-)

WHen I am hammering on a blade on an anvil, I do not keep reading the book on how to do that. I think that the way it is checked now (if you have the book in mind when you start) is OK. The fact that you can remove the book while hammering (or having a book in your mind to be removed) is weirder anyway. So that part (stopping work when removing the book, or having a message) is ‘not-a-bug’.
The fact that you can do other things while you are working is a bug, which I probably just fixed. For testers: look here http://www.hydlaa.com/flyspray_upgrade/index.php?do=details&task_id=2485

Maybe someone can test the above thing on the test server (where all crafting now works). I am not so into crafting and would need a detailed step by step guide about what to move where when :)
