FS#1717 - Master crafted hammer cannot be used for easy jobs.
The master crafted pick can be used for mining for any mining job but the hammer cannot be used for any hammering job. I understand it can be used for advanced training and for some specific jobs but it should be usable for lesser tasks as well. I would not expect it to allow you to do jobs beyond your skill level but is ought to add a bit of quality if used for jobs within your training.

You cannot use it at lower skill.

hmm bs 63 sm 75 the master crafted hammer is useless to make a sword. if I use it I am lucky to get a q240 blade but if I use a reg hammer I can get a 300q blade 90% of the time
The problem is the Q of the Hammer. The Master Crafter hammers Q is 1/1, and my Regular hammer is 1/50. These really need to be fixed.
Tested on Shard and Laanx. The Master Crafted Hammer you get is 50/50 which is correct.
If you have one that is any other quality, please contact a GM in the Help Tab or via petition to get it fixed.
Having acquired a 50/50 MC Hammer from a GM in exchange for my 1/1 Hammer, I tested it out and still could not use it to make a sword handle or SS blade. Thus it has not been fixed as it still cannot be used for easy jobs. Perhaps there is a server component that has not made it to Laanx yet I cannot say, or possibly, this is a design choice that I do not understand. The system message stated it was beyond my abilities.
design choice quality in hammers has no results. the 50/50 is just a graphical eye candy it can be any value and nothing will change. yes master crafted hammers are only for skilled crafters
weltall, as I understand it, the problem is that even if your skill is high enough to use a master crafted hammer for more complicated things, you cannot use it for simpler ones.
My skill is pretty low <20 in blacksmith or any weapon making so I guess this can be closed again although tadill’s comment seems to indicate there is still some problem with it. Would it be fair to ask for what, or how exactly, it is intended to be used? At what point, approximately, is it supposed to give better results than a standard hammer or is it only intended to be used for tasks not possible with that one? Perhaps this is something that could be added to NPC dialog or a library book so people will know it is intentional.
i can craft with it without problems on laanx with an high enough level i can do all the craftings in book of blades wheel shield diagram, axes and knives.
I gives worse results with all tasks at all levels at least till recently we didn’t inspect the statistical results recently. 20 is quite low not enough to use it. you need some additional levels.
Perhaps then this bug’s description should be changed to reflect the poor results from its use by those who can use it as the current description has been determined to be “not a bug.” Alternatively, this could be re-closed and someone could post a new, more accurate bug. I am wondering, is it based on blacksmith skill, specific maker skill or both?
I am unlikely to craft at a level to follow up on this bug anytime soon.

Closing then as not a bug. Other mentioned things that might be wrong should be fixed. If not, someone make a specific new bug (but be aware things may be fixed on test server only).
