FS#333 - fall damage and running does not work correctly
Schaesius petitioned
i don’t die if I fall and hit the ground running. Jumped from the eagle’s head in BD, all the way down and pushed R in mid air - landed safely
I have confirmed this so marking it new at the same time
confirmed on laanx and cvs

I fell down and died.
try doing it in the bd i confirmed it about 3 times before reporting this bug
I have done that too once, the reason is that you are not counted as being on the ground since many of the faces under the eagle's head are very sloped so they are counted as walls, which behaves strangely as all walls do :) , so you are still being counted as falling.
by not pressing R stop in mid air you can even run around down there, until you run onto a flatter surface
Retested with 0.4 trunk r1612 and cs1.3 29696, still happens :( the other bad thing, I got stuck for the first time with the new collider, by walking off the tip of the eagle's head - I was stuck permanently in the white mesh halfway down the waterfall, it is a plane very close to vertical, but not quite.
The other strange thing was not being dead on the dark brown stuff at the bottom of the waterfall (after using /slide a short way to get unstuck a few times), but dying when I got to the light brown stuff, that was very close to horizontal. I could move back and forth on the dark stuff…
Tested twice, once with a player.
Still true.
Unable to reproduce the stay-alive-if-running-when-I-fall aspect. See last-but-one comment for system stats.
Tried again, and died. REmember that /deputize player is not enough, you need to set the fall damage etc flags off too.
