FS#4484 - Unable to pick up quest item when inventory full.
I was trying to do the Jolik’s Letter quest. My inventory was full when he handed me the letter, and I dropped. By the time I dropped something from my inventory, the letter was gone. Now I am stuck on this quest.
May be related to bug 3712 .
That's the idea actually. Once one's inventory is full, any new item one gets is dropped on the ground.
As for the 'gone letter' it's pretty strange it just disappeared… Did you actually see it on the floor, after it was dropped?
Did you try to pick it up (your title suggests it…)? In that case, have you checked any container in your inv? (could be some duplicate of PS#3675)
I understand about dropping something when a NPC gives me something when I have a full inventory, but I didn't get a chance to pick up the letter. I don't remember seeing it on the floor and I checked pretty good. When I try to give it to someone, it says I don't have the item. It's not in my inventory, and the only container I have is a crystal bag.
solution would be special slots only for quest items ( that container would have infinite size and would contain only unique quest items - like in this case "a letter from X to Y", but it would not be a container for common items even if they are required to complete quest )
in inventory there would be 2 tabs "inventory" and "quest/unique items"
I think the best solution here would be to adjust trade system, so the NPC should NOT be able to give you the item. in such case the trade/item giveaway is only possible when the recipient meets specific criteria (slot available, enough STR and so).
