FS#6047 - Quests with sparse automatic quest notes

There are quests with almost no automatic quest notes documenting the progress, except for the first note describing the purpose of the quest. This is especially annoying when you have to get a specific number of items and need to scan your logs, like in old times before automatic quest notes were implemented…

Open quests are in italics, the rest is already completed.

  • A Hammer for Hamel (Hamel Warson; only 2 notes, the second is confusing - sounds as if the quest failed)
  • Drinks in the Deep (Crosh Dunehammer)
  • Get a Performance (Roya Vuntarr; just started, but already missing a log of the direction where to go)
  • Harnquist Weapon Commission (Harnquist)
  • Introduction to Science (Durok Rrecrok)
  • Ring of Familiar (Levrus; just started, but already missing a log of the required ingredients)

Some more:

  • Expand the Gobble Territory (Gorbiak)
  • Gorbiak Disease (Gorbiak)
  • Gorbiak wants to Speak Better(Gorbiak)
  • Introduction to Laanx (Sharven Xanth-Areth)
  • Introduction to Xiosia (Jardet Forsill)
  • Meeting Mirra (Mirra Houpen; the number of requested apples is logged only after the quest is completed)
  • The value of Gobble Ears (Gorbiak)

Some (like the Introduction quests) may not need much information; but others should keep track of requested and delivered items etc.

Are any of these quests one you have done since the introduction of questnotes or are they ones you did long before they were introduced? IF they are old its known they might not work. And I'm certain they are fine when you do the quests new.

The quests reported in the starting post were started during the last month. The quests in the first reply were done during the last year, but more than a month ago, by another char.

The bug can be described liked this. The quest engine is not maintaining the state of the steps you have completed in the quests. So when they get lost as the server sees no completed steps for a quest you have completed it sends no quest notes to you. And when i was just a GM I would see this quite often when looking at players completed steps so its not a new 'bug'. Perhaps the system was not designed to maintain step completion state long after the quest was completed?

Confirming then; I hope "Engine - Quest dynamics" is a matching Area.
