FS#6183 - Guild House (Replace Key System With Keypad Code System)

GET RID OF KEYS and replace it with a keypad code when door is clicked.

Player who has been given keypad privileges after being accepted to guild now can simply CLICK DOOR and enter a password.

IF password is correct, THEN the player magically gets teleported inside.

IF Guild Leader feels any guild member is exploiting their access powers and making a mess inside (like stealing), THEN access is revoked in the GUILD MEMBER screen by right clicking player name and option called REVOKE KEYPAD USE. Only Guild Leader and PERMISSIONS for specific Member Levels can change this back and forth.

PROBLEM SOLVED.

RP-wise it is a lot nicer to have the keys than some magic password-asking door. I don't see the need to abolish the keys. What's the motivation?

Then we don't have character-specific permissions in guilds, just rank-specific which is way to inflexible in handling what you describe. I think this feature request was made without really being aware of the extent of changes necessary.

The motivation is that my Elder Guild leader is out of keys and guild members cannot actively enjoy our guild house if there is no KEY.

Guild leader needs a way to make keys or have access to more keys for members that join the guild, when she is ready to hand them out.

Why would you need a password and keypad if it's being set as an option by "clicking player name"? That's seems redundant as it's mixing two different ways to do it together. Surely it should just be one or the other?

Anyway, keypads and passwords seems very OOC whereas you can actually RP with keys and the giving of them can easily carry IC worth.

As for it being limited to the guild member screen, what about situations when you want to give access to characters outside the guild? By mechanics we can only join one guild/organisation; however, IC it is completely reasonable for one person to be a member of more than one and therefore to have access to more than one house.

Perhaps creating an NPC that creates copies of Guild House keys. ONLY the Guild Leader would be able to create the keys and then hand them out.

EXAMPLE: Guild Leader clicks on NPC Locksmith, who has the ability to make copies of keys. A small screen pops up with slots and a key is inserted into one slot, a key mold in another, and one iron ore. Y then click a button called create AND now you have just make a new duplicate key.

correct = instead of iron ore make that molten ore. That's more realistic.

Making a key would also increase Smithing skills for the Leader.
