FS#6186 - Strange timing when looting
There seems to be something off with respect to killing and looting. Loot seems to "arrive" at random intervals, and seeingly random additional death animations are triggered:
My log (using a shortcut with /loot all several times in a row leading to the following results):
> You have killed Onyx Dagger! > You gained 1490 experience points and 7 progression points! (shortcut pressed) > You have looted 3 Octas, 1 Hexas and 1 Trias > You looted a Golden Ring (shortcut pressed) > Onyx Dagger has no money to be looted. > Onyx Dagger has no items to be looted. (shortcut pressed) > Onyx Dagger has no money to be looted. > Onyx Dagger has no items to be looted. (shortcut pressed) > Onyx Dagger has no money to be looted. > Onyx Dagger has no items to be looted. (shortcut pressed) > Onyx Dagger has no money to be looted. > Onyx Dagger has no items to be looted. (shortcut pressed) * > Onyx Dagger is already dead. > You have looted 3 Octas, 1 Hexas and 1 Trias > You looted a Golden Ring > You looted a Greater Potion of Healing
So in effect I have looted the golden ring and the money twice. At the moment marked with (*) the system played an additional death animation, seemingly linked to the additional death message. I did not use an attack short cut or command at that time.
Also sometimes there is no loot initially and I have to wait and keep trying in order to get it.

There's an issue with onyx daggers' loot. Has been for a while. I did raise it quite some time back but no idea if it is being looked into. I was able to get up to three kill animations from one onyx back when I tested. I think for me it was counting the kill more than once as well though (but I might be remembering wrong).
Humm, thanks for the additional input, I'll keep an eye on PP as well then, next time I'm there.
I've had similar experiences with rogues in Ojaveda occasionally going through the death animation twice and producing loot on each one.
Reproduced this 'multiple death' issue with a NPC killing a PC:
(09:44:34) >You start casting the spell Taste of Death
(09:44:35) >Diseased Rat hits you on the arms for 13.00 damage!
(09:44:35) >Diseased Rat hits you on the torso for 13.00 damage!
(09:44:35) >You have been killed by Diseased Rat!
(09:44:35) >The chill and shivering fades away and you feel better.
(09:44:51) >You start casting the spell Taste of Death
(09:44:52) >You begin to experience feelings of cold and stiffness and a shivering sensation. You feel ill.
(09:44:52) >Diseased Rat hits you on the legs for 13.00 damage!
(09:44:52) >You have been killed by Diseased Rat!
(09:44:52) >The chill and shivering fades away and you feel better.
(09:44:54) >Diseased Rat hits you on the head for 11.00 damage!
(09:44:54) >You have been killed by Diseased Rat!
Did the shortcut contain more commands than /loot all?
Not mine. It just contained
/loot roll all
(So as not to have to adapt my automated killing routine when group hunting.)
I have never been able to trigger the multiple deaths bug with Onix Daggers until today. I have always killed Onix with weapons (thus thet bug wasn't triggered) until today I decided to use some spells and the bug shown up.
Is it consistent that this only happen when magic is used as well? What kind of spells or maybe rather damage (Damage Over Time or Instant Damage)?
I did some experiments and it doesn't matter if you use a DOT or ID spell. I was able to trigger the bug on Onyx Daggers either using Psychic Blow or Lightning Vortex. Sometime I get the resurrecting mob bug as mentioned in task #6262. With weapons it never happens, with spells you have something like 90% of chances to trigger the bug.
