FS#6262 - Resurrecting MOBs

When you try to kill some kind of MOBs, usually humanoids, with the ability to heal themselves, they keep resurrecting.
You can easily see this in Camp Banished. When the foe reachs a health threshold it starts casting healing flash several times. It seems that there is a sort of queue filled with the spells, and the foe keeps resurrecting until you kill him in a moment he is not casting the healing spell.
This is the opposite of the previous behaviour where the opponent was just dying several times.

I've started seeing this with Dark Rogues as well. They die and I get the experience points and even loot them, and then they come back to life and start attacking again.

This is probably the same thing which is seen in  bug 6186 .

Uhm, I'm not sure Venalan, the 6186 refers to mobs that die more than once (I was able to reproduce that bug). Now something is changed (or at least at the moment I filed this bug, I didn't tried recently): mobs are resurrecting i.e. they die and then resurrect permanently being live, previously once triggered the sequence was death-resurrection-death-resurrection….death. Now it seems more death-resurrection-death….resurrection. Once resurrected they are capable to self heal. From my experience, mobs not using self healing spell don't have this bug.

Ok, I can add some details. I tried again against the Banished Camp mobs. Here an extract from the log that I turned on to show you the results.

(11:45:40) >You start casting the spell Lightning Vortex
(11:45:42) >You summon storm clouds which strike Pilfer repeatedly with lightning.
(11:45:42) >You've gained some practice points in Red Way.
(11:45:43) >You start casting the spell Lightning Vortex
(11:45:45) >Unnatural storm clouds already gathered over Pilfer.
(11:45:45) >You've gained some practice points in Red Way.
(11:45:45) >You start casting the spell Fist of the Volcano
(11:45:47) >You've gained some practice points in Body Development.
(11:45:47) >Pilfer hits you on the head for 196.00 damage!
(11:45:47) >Your thorns fire themselves at Pilfer, injuring them for 36.72 damage.
(11:45:47) >Pilfer attacks you but your head blocks it.
(11:45:47) >You summon a giant fist of hot bubbling lava and hit Pilfer for 292.44 damage.
(11:45:47) >You've gained some practice points in Red Way.
(11:45:48) >You start casting the spell Fist of the Volcano
(11:45:50) >You gained 3576 experience points and 17 progression points!
(11:45:50) >You summon a giant fist of hot bubbling lava and hit Pilfer for 292.44 damage.
(11:45:50) >You've gained some practice points in Red Way.
(11:45:50) >Pilfer is already dead.
(11:46:04) >You start casting the spell Fist of the Volcano
(11:46:06) >You gained 3576 experience points and 18 progression points!
(11:46:06) >You summon a giant fist of hot bubbling lava and hit Pilfer for 292.44 damage.
(11:46:06) >You've gained some practice points in Red Way.
(11:46:11) >Pilfer has no money to be looted.
(11:46:11) >Pilfer has no items to be looted.
(11:46:17) >You awake feeling refreshed.

As you can see, at (11:45:50) I killed Pilfer once. Then Pilfer resurrects with some healt points and he is living until I kill him for the second time at (11:46:04).
I hope this can give some help :)

Gladiator and Mercenary are also having this die more than once issue.
I do not know if they have self-healing abilities so i thought it was worth mentioning.

Davide Vescovini commented on 26.01.2014 22:09

So it's like I was guessing, it's not only happening with self-healing NPCs, looks like there's something wrong happening when a looting session is started.
