FS#722 - better command for awarding players

/award command that includes PP, money, items and factions

we have no command that can do all and it might be easier then seperate commands for each.

The task depends upon

Do you mean still /award but with different parameters?
e.g.
/award 0 100 none none (0 ) PP, 100 = trias, none none the items and factions)?
Or?

Caarrie commented on 06.12.2007 12:12

that would work, and i think much better then just the /awardexp command we have now and /giveitem that does not work with trias

Maybe also this could be a prospect task.

This is an interesting feature. Awarding experience is a pain with large groups since it can only be used on one target at a time. I don’t know if the new GM console will allow handling event groups so we can reward them too (I know it has event features but I haven’t seen it yet). If so and if that new system is easy enough, maybe this task should be closed.

weltall commented on 26.10.2008 18:52

now awardexp uses the standard targeting so it should be possible to award an area of targets

setting as prospect task.
This could do with a generic command and streamlining the current commands as sub methods called by that. When doing it remember to accept relative values. also implement a skill one by splitting one part of the current setskill so it can be used for relative skill assignment from /event

patch patch patch to implement /award and modify /event reward to work in a similiar way. for new syntax check the updated help file

EDIT: fixed /event reward, added missing messages and fixed messages being sent to the GM instead of the player for item creation - big thanks to CXDamian for testing
EDIT2: added comments and fixed random money awarding to reflect the latest change by khaki

patch patch updated patch for svn trunk, introduced class structure for award data storage

EDIT by RlyDontKnow: changed patch link to a full copy (pastebin truncates too long pastes)

Money and faction rewards do not work:

/award me money circles 100 : “Invalid money type”; same for the other types of money (trias, hexas, etc.)
/award me faction orcs 5 : “Nothing to award”

Other rewards (exp, item, skill) work though.
