FS#7597 - Setting Gems into Armor Doesn't Work if Gem is in left hand
If the gem is in your left hand when you try to set it into a socketed armor set, the gem is not set and you just create the normal version of that armor. The gem is not consumed in the process, but you waste the socket that was added to the armor set. Would suggest checking to make sure the gem is in the correct hand, and if not, warn the user, or remove the handedness requirement (though make sure it doesn’t have the same issue as jewelry where the gem isn’t consumed if it’s in the wrong hand FS#7579 ).
Can be fixed based on fix done for
FS#7579, please retest.i re-tested this with an enchanted gem, and it works as expected. I tested it with a non-enchanted gem, and regardless of which hand you hold the gem in, it now creates a "normal" version of the armor, consuming both the gem and the socket. I'm not sure if this is due to those types of armors not existing, or if it's a bug. For example, in jewelry crafting you can just make a gold ruby ring with a non-enchanted gem. If no such item exists for armor, there should probably be a check for if the gem is enchanted or not, and if the gem is not enchanted, warn the user.
you did enchanted armor with a normal gem, you got a normal enchantment result.
you can still get xp with normal gems this way i guess, Its something neat you stumbled upon
