This applies to SVN 9046 on 64 bit Linux.

When mobs run, they seem to run in place for a while, then jump ahead to where they should be. I’ve seen a similar thing happen with a walking NPC (Ondren). Kra walked in place for a second or two, then slid rapidly forward to kra’s next position.

I think this bug appeared sometime after SVN 9000. I do not see this using the stable release.

This is a collection of quest dialogue typos I've collected over the past month or so. None of them affect completion of the quest.

Malco Needs Lunch. At end, text says to make choice, but no choice is offered, just receive 2 diamonds. Appears to be left over from when a choice could be made.

Krestal's Letter Delivery: At the end of the quest, the text says he gives you some octa, and then 1 extra for good service. Actual award is 1000 tria.

Caynt needs tablet identified: Caynt says to find Nyshyn near the ruins near Hydlaa. Shouldn't this be near Gugrontid?

Beginning the Red Way Apprenticeship: Ferryd: "I must say you look like you have enjoyed your training with Levrus, or whom ever it was." "whomever" should be 1 word.
"Normally you would have to travel to the forth level…" should be "…fourth level…"

Bhurral's Awkward Task: At the end, "Bhurral hands you some octa." The actual reward is 3391 tria, which is more like "some circles" than "some octa."

The Coming Eclipse: "Nodramok Dakyl look you up and down with a sceptical expression on his face." Should be "skeptical" Datal give you 20 coins, actual amount is 9922 tria which is more than 40 coins.

The Practical Crystal Way Adept: "Please except my Way Wand…" should be "Please accept my Way Wand…"
Zhaomal say "I failed to see the single glyph, single way spell." But the Curing Faith spell uses 2 glyphs.

In the Moren Needs New Boots quest. after you give him the boots and receive your tria and PP, it says. “Your faction with Guard has worsened.”

This is following up on the "meet the devs" discussion regarding the graphics problems some are experiencing at high resolution with the latest client update. A black bar appears at the top of the window, and the user has to aim the mouse above the target by an amount equivalent to the size of the black bar. The black bar at the top appears to be the same size as the taskbar. I made my taskbar larger and the black bar at the top grew by the same amount. Resizing my task bar smaller did not make the black bar shrink again.

Using a resolution less than the screen maximum seems to avoid the problem. It's been noted at 1600x1200, 1920x1080, and others.

This was not a problem in 0.5.9.3.

System info: Nvidia 6800GT, NVIDIA Binary drivers 295, Mageia 2 Linux 64 bit.

Venalan - TEMPORARY FIX! - LOWER SCREEN RESOLUTION!

Are there any plans to bring in a Pterosaur at the Eagle Bronze Doors? Maybe you could bring back Havris, who was reported missing in PS#3544, as the trainer.

With the new training process, all skills are now shown as being in training, even those at level 0. This makes it impossible to filter out untrained skills. This is annoying, especially on the Jobs and Various tabs where it’s possible to only have a few skills actually being trained and many unused.

Perhaps an option to sort skills in descending order of level would help. I tried playing with the xml file but wasn’t able to get anything to work.

When I try to do the Liera’s Supplies quest, she doesn’t understand me. I don’t have any other quests with her at the moment.

When I accepted Gregori’s “Unreadable Page” quest with “It will be my pleasure, where do I start?”, he gave me the explanation for why he left Laanx (the answer to the “Polyuntri Serves Laanx” quest) starting with “I will continue. When I awoke…” I haven’t killed all the monsters yet to get this answer; I’m still at the gobble ear. The second time I started the “Unreadable Page” quest, it went through normally. I haven’t gone back to Sharven yet to see if he takes my answer to the Polyuntri quest.

Trasok says “Next I need two small battle axes.” But when I try to give them to him, I get an error that I have too few small battle axe. I made a third but it still wasn’t enough.

When trying to complete “The Rotten Deal” quest with Ryger, I finally found a monster that drops rotten meat. However, when I try to give the 2 rotten meats to Ryger, I get a message that I don’t have the required item.

After giving Narwin the provisions and beer, he says “Please accept this as a reward for your job.” but doesn’t give anything.

With all the icons available for the shortcuts and the necessity of using them due the (I feel) poor formatting of text shortcuts, it would be really helpful if the icons were sorted/grouped in some rational manner rather than just randomly scattered across the grid.

When I use the red X icon close a window that is overlapping the shortcut window, in addition to closing the window, it triggers the shortcut underneath the X.

When talking to Jirosh about establishing a syndicate, he asks “Can you do this for me?” The first response is “Honesty is not my policy. Yes, I can and I will.” I think this should be two separate answers.

The ability to cast a molten metal into an ingot should go with the ability to smelt the ore. I currently have the ability to smelt tin and copper ores and ingots, but can’t cast the molten metals into ingots.

As stated in subject. His forehead is on his chin.

Krestal says “Anyway, I would ask Miss Tarela here to carry them…”

However, now that Krestal has moved off the plaza, this doesn’t seem appropriate.

There are 2 typos in the “Right on the mine” quest after you convince Narwin to give you the beer.

1. “You receive a Narwing Barrel” - Narwin’s name is spelled wrong

2. Last line of dialog after asking “Who is Cilay Mecur?” is “I don’t see him since a long time.” Should be “I haven’t seen him in a long time.” for proper English

After getting the beer from Narwin and asking about Cilay Mecur, Narwin gives you another barrel of beer and the question about Cilay Mecur is still available, allowing you to keep getting more “Narwing Barrels”

After telling Lyrus “Hamel sent me here.” and getting the package, it’s possible to repeat the process and get multiple packages, which can then be given multiple times to Gardr for his reward. The package can also be given multiple times to Hamel for his reward.

The Dazzling Light spell doesn’t seem to be very effective. Instead of disabling creatures, it seems to just attract them. For weaker creatures, I get “Your light explosion dazzles xxx.” For stronger creatures I get “xxxx seems unphased by your light explosion.” In both cases, all creatures in the area attack. I did not notice a significant difference in the effectiveness of their attacks after being dazzled.

If you talk to Gardr, the quest seems to get stuck. I went through the "What can I do to stop this" line, but can't progress. Neither Gardr nor Hamel will take the package, and I should still have the option of giving it to either one.

I tried it a slightly different way got stuck at "There's surely something we can do." I can give the package to Gardr and get paid (multiple times), but the quest doesn't end. When I go back to Hamel, I get the "Narwin refused to help, may I know why?" and then "This NPC has no quest information." When I tell Amidison it's war, she says she'll talk to the Octarch and gives the reward, but the quest doesn't end. I can keep telling Amidison and keep getting rewarded.

I’ve been having some display issues in PlaneShift, so I decided to run the repair function. It appears to be searching for Win64 files on my Linux64 system:

I’m running the Linux v0.5.9.1-x64. My client is at 0.5.9.3 and my launcher is 3.02.

The fear spell doesn’t appear to have any real effect. If I walk up to a rogue and cast it, the next line is usually “Rogue attack with a normal stance” and I start taking damage. There is no indication that the rogue dodged or resisted the attack. I’ve tried it with a few other creatures and they also start attacking immediately. According to the description, targets of the fear spell are supposed to go into a full defensive stance, which should mean no attacks. If I go full defensive, I can’t even damage a rat.

If it matters, I’m at level 40 dark way with +7 in buffs (47 total), and casting at 100%.

When I put on my bracers, they do not appear on my Lemur character. I’ve tried a couple different bracers on both windows and linux clients. I am not wearing a robe or any armor. I do not have any problems with Dermorian or Nolthrir characters.

SVN 9046

If I put a gem in an enchanter of spirit, and then move a different item from one place to another in my inventory or move another item into and out of the enchater, the gem in the enchanter becomes invisible. It is still there, but I can’t see it. The enchanting process continues and when it completes, the resulting item (dust or gem) appears.

After creating and uploading a new character, the client hangs at the point where the progress bar usually changes from “loading world” to “loading GUI.” If I quit the client and relaunch, everything works and I can use the new character.

This is on 64-bit Linux.

When the player’s response to an NPC is too long to fit in the window, instead of wrapping, the text is cut off. There is a horizontal scroll bar, but it doesn’t make the text visible. The only way I’ve found to get the text to appear is to resize the window so it’s wide enough to show the text (the missing text still doesn’t appear), close the window, reopen it, and resize it again. Then the text will appear.

Player says “Have to be just the right about, though, or you’d just blow it out.” Should be amount.

System Message: “You used the wind glyph to stock Harnquist’s Forge.” Should be stoke.

Casting Flame Spire causes the display to slow down severely. In first-person view, it drops from 71 fps to 3 fps, which is unplayable. Even in third-person, it drops to under 20.

After giving the iron, provisions, beer, when asking if he needs anything else, he says “Some people want to stole ancient artifacts.” should be steal

Lyrus Lockspur is female, but Hamel says “He is expecting you.”

When doing the subject quest, after giving the crystals to Kisatol, I get two options to finish the quest with Ukabnu: 1: Here you go. 2: These are for you. Selecting 1 produces the “You failed…” ending, saying she wanted Kisatol to have the crystals. This response should not be presented if the player gives the crystals to Kisatol first.

I am unable to start the Road to Master Cook Chapter 2 quest. When I talk to Mirra, I can say “Hi Mirra, any new recipes?” but the response is “Mirra Houphen doesn’t pay attention to you.” I’ve completed Chapter 1. Is there some other prerequisite to start this quest?

On the Dangerous Winds quest, Aerayau asks "Are you prepared to face this trial?" I answered "Prepared and ready," and Aerayau sent me on to Amidison. However, when I talk to her, she says she has no quest info for me. When I look at the quest log, it says I "told Aerayau that I do not agree to take on the mission." I verified in my chat logs that I did in fact accept it. I've tried going back to restart the quest, but the NPCs don't have anything to say.

Cutting 1 Steel Coil into 10 Open Steel Rings increases the weight by 10x. A single wire weighs 0.5, 10 rings weigh 10×0.5=5.0. The 10 rings are also 10x the size of one coil.

Also, combining 1 dozen closed steel rings (weight 0.5) with 4 dozen open steel rings (weight 4×0.5=2) produces 1 4-in-1 pattern with weight 0.5.

On several occasions, I have accidentally taken items from a container that were being worked on by another player. Each time it seemed to be shortly after the item went through a transformation and I was using the Take All icon. The most recent occasion was a few days ago when I picked up several platinum steel stocks from Trasok’s forge. I have also taken items from Aleena’s preparation table and the quench tanks behind Harnquist’s smithy.

“Zhaomal Shehan looks at his the Lava glyph he still holds.” his should be deleted.

Zhaomal Shehan says: “Sometimes it takes a more simple mind to see a simple solutions. should be “Sometimes it takes a simpler mind to see a simple solution.” or “…to see simple solutions.”

At the end, Jecascis says “I was going to sell them once I got off duty, but you can have them.” Both “them” can be changed to “it” since the reward has changed to a single item.

Item #5 from PS#6443 still isn’t fixed. My hops didn’t get taken when I did the “dance” option. When I did the “story” option, they did get taken.

Also on the “story” option, the NPC says “They weight……..make sure ye can heave em up.” It would be nice to know how much they weigh on both options so the player can determine if they can carry them.

Dhalia doesn’t understand the request to start the Needs a Skin quest.

In the Emporium Raid quest, Rinna says to speak with Rabartus so the Onyx Dagger group can be punished. However, Rabartus doesn’t have any quest dialog.

Serana Tuvi is identified as Ylian, but appears Ynnwn.

On the Learning Shield Working quest, Trasok asks for 2 rock picks. I went in with 3 (2 for Trasok, 1 to keep) and got an error: “You have too few rock pick. Come back when you have the correct amount.” In most other scenarios when a player has too many items, there’s a prompt to manually give the items. I tried this with Trasok, but got a message that “Trasok Starhammer doesn’t need that.” I put one pick in storage and then was able to give 2 to Trasok.

Levrus appears to be wearing a cloak of invisiblity. All that’s visible are his head, hands, and boots. Those are also the only areas that can be selected to interact with him.

I installed the the recent update, which didn’t work (client kept crashing). I reinstalled 0.5.4 (Linux 64 bit) over the update without removing it, so maybe that contributed to the problem.

If someone can tell me how to post a screenshot, I’ll add one.

I am no longer able to enter the arena. Whenever I try to leave the tunnel, I get the following error: “Received unknown sector “outer” - moving you to a valid position.” I then get moved back to the tunnel exit.

Running client 0.5.6.1 on Mandriva Linux 2010.2 on EasyPCUSA

I originally created PS#5351 and PS#5354, but there’s so many I’m going to lump them all in here together. Text between _underscores_ needs to be fixed. Did anyone proof-read this before it was posted?

First, is the title even correct? Should it be “Right _to_ the mine”?

When Amidison asks if you want to help, the response is “Yes, why not, there could be something _worth to learn_.” It should end “_worth learning_.”

When asking Hamel about minerals, he says “Otherwise you should _ask to merchants_.” It should be “…_ask merchants_.”

Asking Rolara, “There _have_ to be something I can do for you.” Should be “There _has_ to be…”

Rolara says “I will make them _eatable_.” This might be right, but “edible” is more commonly used.

When asking Hamel why Narwin refuses to help, “Hamel drums his finger on _the_ beard” Should be “Hamel drums his finger on _his_ beard.

He then says “If you can’t _let him work_, nevermind.” Should be “If you can’t _get his help_, nevermind.”

When asking the “prettier” person for help, the text is “Did you _threat_ him?” It should be “Did you _threaten_ him?”

She also replies “You know what people say about _bearder_ women.” It should be “bearded.”

Narwin says “People like Cilay Mecur would never accept a _behavoiuor_ like this.” It should be “behavior” (or “behaviour” if you prefer British).

After giving the meat, “…then he takes the meat from you.” It should be “she” not “he”

“Rolara Hammersong finishes _to pack_ the meat and -handles_ you the bundle.” should be “Rolara Hammersong finishes _packing_ the meat and _hands_ you the bundle.”

After asking what Hamel means by discretion, he says “I need you to get something _from_ me.” it should be “_for_ me.”

Next line is “But if other people _will know_ about this…” should be “_find out_ about this…”

When asking if he needs anything else, he says “Some people want to _stole_ ancient artifacts.” Should be “_steal_”. (Previously reported in PS#5354)

“He has no right _on_ these mines.” Should be “He has no right _to_ these mines.”

“…you know, _big_ amount of provisions is _usually omen_ of a big army.” should be “you know, _a large_ amount of provisions is _usually an omen_ of a big army.”

“Seems he tried to stop Hamel, but Hamel has the community of dwarves _behind._” Should end “_behind him._”

Amidison says “Alas, you confirm teh rumors _a_ heard lately.” Should be “rumors _I_ heard lately.” Amidison says “I will inform the _Octarc._” Should be “_Octarch._”

While going through the dungeon, I went over the side to the lower path. I continued on to the tunnel that ends at laanxdungeon -65.92, -105.01, 78.90 and got stuck. Unable to move in any direction and unstick didn’t help. If this tunnel doesn’t work, there’s no way out except to die.

I realize that it’s not possible to enter this tunnel from this end (PS#4483), but I used to be able to get out (at least as a lemur, though not as a kran. And in either case, I shouldn’t get stuck. Looks like PS#1165 has come back unless the intent really is to punish people who go over the edge by making them die.
