Logging out after a longer time of idling, one would expect to login with full health later. But I noticed that my health is a little lower and starts regenerating after I logged in. This is especially obvious for characters with not yet maxed stats, appears to be a relative impact.

I wonder if this is caused by buffing armor parts, e.g. Ulbernaut Bracers (+8 Strength, boosting HP too, indirectly). I could imagine that the max. HP are calculated without buffs, and the current health gets limited to this lower maximum (lower than while logging out previously); then the engine loads armor parts after logging in and has to update the HP maximum, which is now higher with buffs, and the current HP get a headroom to fill up.

Since the quest chains were introduced, and many indirect prerequisites for the availability of a quest, I now waste a lot of time scanning each NPC for the very few which have a quest available at the moment, regarding my current list of completed quests, over and over again.

The additional vague hints which are being added to the end of quests are not sufficient because on one hand they may fail, and on the other hand they help better when I just started a new character, not when my experienced character is already in the middle of many quest chains.

I don’t expect a big fat rotating question mark above an NPC’s head; it can well be a less remarkable change – like a different color, outline, or font style for the label, or a slight translucent highlight effect.

When I leave the house, the Ojaveda music (art/music/areas/ojaveda/main.ogg) plays; entering the house, the Ojaveda music keeps playing. So I believe there is an entry like “no background music” missing somehow, if not even a specific music.

But all fishes in PS have the same size and weight of 1.

I don’t expect a variable weight and size per catch, but at least different average weights and sizes.

Sometimes I see NPCs which seem to have returned to their home area after a character they attacked managed to escape them. But they keep running like crazy around a position, only a step forth and back. I believe they should return to a "standing" stance after a while without having a target to attack.

P.S.: Some seem to chill down, maybe it takes more or less time to exactly hit a position. Still, for a while, running around a little spot looks concerning… I guess it may help to give them a lager radius of acceptable home position.

P.P.S.: It is not the NPC which attacked my char, which I escaped, but another from its tribe, which starts "freaking out".

It doesn’t happen often, but at least in a percent, that I stand close to an opponent, it is certainly inside the first-person view frustum, but still I can’t attack, and a system HUD message in red tells me I need to face it. This is not only annoying, but quite dangerous while fighting rather equal opponents. A small turn is usually enough to solve the situation, but must be done in the correct direction, preferably so that the straight-ahead view line is crossed.

If a character wields items with attached and visible own mesh — like shield, bracers, plate armor — they don’t accept a mouse click to target the character.

Certainly related: When a character rides a mount, you have to target the mounted animal; clicking the character’s mesh doesn’t target. The reason may be that “the character becomes the mount while riding” and gets attached to it like a dummy.

I don’t know how selection by mouse works in Cal3D, but I guess that attached items may be able to reveal their parent in a branch hierarchy.

  • Start an elaborate crafting step which displays the small progress window (e.g. pulverizing a crystal in the mortar, that can take about half a minute in low levels).
  • Cancel the progress.
  • Try to interact with an NPC (e.g. buy training): This function stays unavailable until the planned crafting duration finished (and the animation stopped).

Means: If you cancel the progress after a few seconds, you still have to wait the rest of the time until you can contact an NPC again.

P.S.:

More exactly, “Cancel” only closes the progress window, but doesn’t cancel the crafting process. If you keep the ingredient in the container, the crafting step will be finished even after “Cancel” closed the progress window.

Worrem Dhoshi used to be a money changer. You could give him coins and he asks you how to change them. But I can't give him 40,000 trias, he doesn't need them. And he doesn't have any quest information for me either.
