It was recently reported to me, and I have confirmed it on production and testing, that skill buffs (but not stat buffs) which are applied in the give_quest_buff progression script do not persist between logins. But annoying the active magic does.
To reproduce;
1 Start “give of knowledge” quest.
2 Go to Govel (or any other skill giving NPC) and pay for the ‘Crystal Way Knowledge’ buff.
3 You will see the buff is applied to the character and the active magic is active.
4 Relog.
5 The active magic is still active, but when you look in the skill window the crystal magic buff is no longer being applied.
So either the skill buffs are not being saved in the same way stat buffs are, and/or the skill buffs are not being read from the DB on log in and applied to the characters the same way stat buffs are.

It appears that when you change maps the rotation value in the action location is not being set on the player in the destination map.

There are many time in quests and KAs when they have the same trigger, for example “about armor” or “about apples”.
When you click a quest menu (or type some text to an NPC) the first dialogue(s) to be searched should be quests and if a matching trigger is found the quest menu should be sent, then if nothing is found in a quest it should search KAs. What is currently happening when you have two or more matching triggers you are getting a random choice between the quest response and the KA response. This results in players getting what seems to be a response from the NPC but the quest does not continue.

As the title suggests, when you change the button height with width set to ‘auto’ I would expect the button width to scale with it. It does not. If you change the width setting from auto→manual→auto the correct width is set.
Potentially related
It is possible that when names appear the window correctly resizes and the full name is shown. But when you move back to images only the width is set to the minimum so you end up with very tall very thin buttons. But the icons have the dimensions you would expect for button height set to max so you can only see the central portion of the icon.
I can make this happen by following these steps.
1 - Button height to minimum 2 - button width to manual (and moved to minimum) 3 - button width to auto 4 - set button height to max 5 - button/icon width is fixed and when you change name↔icon you get the broken display
If you don’t follow these steps the width for change between icons and names works correctly

It was mentioned once in a meet the devs meeting that researching spells can he hard work. Especially with the more complex multi-way spells.
Talad mentioned and liked the idea of changing the error message when failing to research a spell so that if you have the right combination of glyphs, but just don’t succeed in finding a spell the server would tell up. Opposed to now when you just “fail”.
So I’m adding this here so it isn’t forgotten.

With the latest revision (r9606, SVN server, linux32 client), when you speak to an npc who has nothing to say to you you get you get the “This NPC has no quest for you but might have other things to say” continually reappearing on the screen. This should only happen once.
It would seem that a loop is happening where the client asks for a quest, doesn’t receive any, so asks again over and over. Each time only being sent the error message.

If you trigger any menu from an NPC, and immediately click ‘BYE’ you break the menus for that npc. The next time you open the quest window the first page of options does not show. If there are more that 3 options available when you move onto the second page, and back to the first and the options appear. If there is not a second page you have to relog to make the options appear.
It would appear the new timing requires the completion of the NPC dialogue to correctly display the available options. If you break the timing by closing the window the window no longer behaves correctly. To completely fix it you have to relog.

As of r9601 in linux32bit when you resize the shortcut window and scroll the up/left arrow appears in a fixed location which can be invisible by being outsize the size of the shortcut window if you make it very narrow, this seems to be the location the arrow took before resizing was done. Or, the up arrow for the vertical window can be in the position of the left arrow for the horizontal window, near to the lock icon.
This seems to be caused when you scroll the shortcut window, and then resize it. The up/left arrow is maintaining the position it had when you scrolled the first time, and is not being updated in the new window size when you scroll again.
You can force an update to the position by adjusting the on/auto settings. But as soon as you scroll up/down and then resize the window, when you scroll again the arrow is again in the wrong place (with both arrows set to auto).

It seems there are now duplicate code checks for counting subsets, or duplicate displays of one counting. This option should really show “red apple (1/2)” and “red apple (2/2)”.
Also now, when you have 8 menus visible from many different quests the number shown is (1/8)-(8/7) so it is done on a total number of menus available, not on a by quest basis. For example, if you have 3 quests active and 8 steps the numbering could be (1/3)(2/3)(3/3), (1/2)(2/2), (1/3)(2/3)(3/3)

At the moment the renaming method seems to only allow you to rename a sack with a single word.
If you choose, sack of beans, the sack would be renamed “sack” you have to add " " eg, “sack of beans” to get a multiple word rename.
The code in the window which handles renaming should explicitly add " " to all renaming attempts so that players don’t need to. To would make it much more user friendly, as it is not at all obvious you need to add " " to get it to work.
