There is no part and icon for the current release in the “PlaneShift Loyal Fan” section of the MyPlane achievements yet.

In order to speed things up and reduce the overall impact I prepared three proposals:

For aesthetic reasons I favour the first, as it has the best balance in colour and motif, although the two others are a bit more expressive, when it comes to representing the new features.

Feature Request6735NoEngineMediumUnconfirmedDaevaornMake /ignore target music output as well as chat28.12.20141 Task Description

I would like to have a specific means of muting certain people’s “music”. It’s a shame if you have to turn off all musical instruments to be rid of the “Listen to me practise my same song for any amount of hours if you want to craft here” people.

So it would be very nice if /ignore commands would also affect audio output triggered by the ignored person. Not sure how feasible that is technically, though.

Feature Request6891NoGame BalanceMediumPostponedDaevaornDavide VescoviniMake progression points useful beyond stats training15.04.2020 Task Description

Once you’ve maxed your stats, currently there’s no more use for progression points/XP. It’s just an endless counter going up and up and up.

How about:

  • adding PP prices to the money you have to pay in special attack quests? (”Sorry, but you don’t have enough experience to learn this, come back later and I’ll show you how it’s done.”)
  • having to pay in PP more than in Tria for the temporary knowledge bonuses?
  • consuming progression points if you craft something with a special modifier (and in turn only allowing you to do so if you have some to spare)?
  • add more temporary buffs (for example for stats or more directly as bonus HP/MP, increased HP/MP regeneration) that are paid for only in PP or with much lower tria costs.

I am aware that it probably requires quite some additions to the quest scripting and other places and is by no means a trivial change, but I thought it may add to the medium- to long-term development deliberations. To me progression points feel like a loose end, now that they lost their purpose in skill training.

Bug Report7894NoQuestsMediumReady to testDaevaorn"Beer Tasting Event" quest cannot be taken up09.03.20246 Task Description

The quest “Beer Tasting Event” (that I understand is the one to start into the Brewing skill) is not working as intended.

OBSERVED:

When I initiate the quest dialog in the interaction menu with a double click on the option

“Looks like you are in search of fame and honour. Unfortunately I have not tasks to help you in that.”

The quest is not taken up accordingly.

EXPECTED:

The quest dialogue should be properly initiated and a quest log entry should appear after that.

Bug Report7956NoModels and MapsMediumUnconfirmedDaevaornAmdeneir needs scaling up by 20-30%02.12.2023 Task Description

It might make sense that an Ynnwn has to crouch in order to get through a Klyros built door, but when Klyros are struggling to pass many doors in their own city, that doesn’t make any sense.

Many doors are too narrow for my Klyros character to pass through. Same holds for some of the decoration, like the kiosks in the market hall with an awning that is too low to look at the wares on the table.

I think 20-30% larger scale would be sufficient to remedy the major trouble spots.

Bug Report6298NoPetsMediumAssignedDavide VescoviniAnders ReggestadSome Pets commands don't work01.01.20142 Task Description

I've just tested some Pet commands (by using a summoned familiar) and the following commands don't seem to reach the familiar NPC:
/pet [name,] assist
/pet [name,] guard
/pet [name,] run
/pet [name,] walk

Please note the Minion behaviour used for pets is using almost the same data in SVN. The steps I used to replicate the bug:
1. summoned a familiar
2. issue a command /pet [name,] follow/stopattack/stay/run/walk
3. use the /info command to know the last perceived command.

When reaching step 3 the info command should show something like that:
(12:08:36) [System] >Last perception: ownercmd:stopattack
instead for the above commands an error message is outputted (just like the command was wrongly typed or isn't recognized).

By using the percept command on the NPC like /percept ownercmd:run the behaviour is correctly run and works as expected.

Also please note that assist/guard commands appear in the help.xml file while the new run/walk don't.

Feature Request726NoCraftingMediumNewDrunk HammerwielderRedesign/Add to the Crafting GUI.25.02.2013165 Task Description

Related to: http://hydlaa.com/flyspray_upgrade/index.php?do=details&task_id=611&histring=crafting

Goal of this feature request: To provide an alternative to the numerously unneeded clicking and dragging through the addition of additional options.

Possibilities:

1. Allow all targeting equipment to be targeted and add short cut commands as discussed in http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=30727.0;topicseen and http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=28284.0 .

1B. Add a /place command that would place a specified number of a specified item into a targeted container.

1C. Add a /remove command that would remove a specified number of a specified item from a targeted container.

1D. Add a /combine command that has the same functionality as the combine button that is on the right click menu.

2. Have the stock casting containers automatically convert large stacks of molten ore to the largest possible unit. (IE: A stack of 63 Molten Iron would yield a stack of 6 Iron Stocks and 3 Iron Ingots.)

2B. Add a button and command to Stock Casting that will toggle that will allow the user to cast only ingots.

2C. Allow the user to combine large amounts of objects at a time so long as the proper amounts of objects are present. (IE: 81 Iron ore and 9 Coal ore would yield 90 Molten Steel. Also, you could combine 10 sword handles with 10 sword blades to quickly put together 10 swords.)

3. Add a key to be pressed and held that would allow the user to pick up an entire stack.

I believe that there has been discussion of several other alterative on the forums.

Thank you for your time:
- Tontow

when you repair a dagger for example you have to
- equip it in right hand
- do /repair and wait for it to end.

if you try to select the “weapon” which is being repaired you cannot move it.
you get the message : “You cannot move an item being used”

BUT if you take another weapon, select it and put it on the weapon being repaired, they will switch themselves (i mean the weapon in the hand will go to the INV and the one in the INV in the hand) and the repair action will still be active. (the weapon you started to repair will be repaired, not the one after switching).

The old application clearly stated which skills can be trained by simply showing you them listed in the dialog.

Now you’re getting list of all skills and let’s take Percival Hawthorne for example:

What we see is:
- list of all skills
- some progress bar right under the skill
- some progress bar in the right part of the box
- if you try to hover on this, we can see it marked “tbd” which doesn’t make it any less defective.

What we should see:
- list of skills the NPC can actually train you (the current list needs to be filtered)
- the cost of the training both in tria and PP (the progress bar on the right should be simply replaced with a button

Feature Request6333NoCraftingMediumNewElhorienDavide Vescovinimore variety of animal parts to craft Healing essences01.08.201414 Task Description

I write this to ask about more variety of animal parts in order to craft this essence, since it can be obtained in low production from aragnas and in high production from trepor queen. Trepor queen is just one mob in place and not always give to you the eggs sack. Feature Request2631NoMovementMediumNewElvors AmenorasRunning up slopes should be more taxing26.03.20091 Task Description

I consider it unrealistic how terrain is (not) interacting with movement.

As far as I know, in real life, every meter up is as taxing as ten meters across. (The factor of 10 is from a schoolbok, it might be a good idea to verify this from a professional source.)
Going downwards requires concentration to avoid slipping and falling, and a surprisingly large amount of strength to absorb the shock from “falling” the height would lose with every step. (Walk down 250 metres of a moderately steep slope with a backpack on your shoulders and you’ll know what I mean.)

In terms of game mechanics, this would mean:
* When running upwards, the speed should decrease and stamina loss should increase, and the cumulative effect of these two changes should be drastic. It’s possible to trade one change for the other: keeping the speed unchanged and massively increasing stamina loss would force players to rest, keeping the stamina loss constant would call for a massive speed reduction. However, I think it should be a little of both since that causes interesting effects (see below under “game experience”).
* When walking downwards, there should be no stamina loss (you can make the physics work for you), and you should be faster, but you lose mental stamina. The less your mental stamina is, the higher the probability of slipping and falling. If you fall on a too-steep slope, you continue skidding. Falling should do damage that’s proportional to the total weight (character + load), blunt damage (not much help from armor); skidding should do damage-over-time, armor protecting fully (essentially this is abrasive damage, which is similar to slash - but don’t give characters armor training from that).

In terms of game experience, this would mean:
* Getting up on a slope is a time-consuming experience, and almost never worth avoiding the walk around the hill. People will stay on the paths in the valleys. This will cause more interaction between normal travellers (and make Cutthroat Lane work better for the Cutthroads, too). It will also make people who leave the road more likely to remain undetected.
* The Settings team can make NPCs less accessible and less likely to be found by placing them on a hilltop, or in a valley behind mountain pass.
* Players with maxed stats have less issues with upward slopes than newbies, but they will still avoid slopes unless they have reason to.
* Hilltops will become a tactical advantage. An attacker will need far more time to reach a defender on the top, and expose himself to ranged combat for a longer time. (Take this into consideration when reducing the effectiveness of long-range combat spells; ideally, a mage would win against a fighter from a hilltop, and lose against a fighter on even ground.)
* Hilltops also become a bit of a trap. Defenders forced to flee from a hilltop risk falling and getting overwhelmed.
* Pursuing down a hilltop is problematic due to risk of falling. Defenders might want to hide a pursuit team in a nearby valley that’s near the height of the route of the attackers, though that would force them to split up forces. Decisions, decisions… which means tactical variation, which is a Good Thing when it comes to making the combat aspects of the game interesting :)
* Reaching the Eagle Bronze Doors takes a lot of time already, making them even less reachable will no doubt make many players very unhappy. An alchemist that sells stamina regeneration potions at the bottom of the path up would help with that.

Just my 5 cents :)
(and no, I don’t expect this to be implemented anytime soon :D )

Feature Request5325NoInventory/ItemsMediumUnconfirmedEnio ArdaBuyback option for last sold item(s) to NPC15.07.201124 Task Description

I would like to have the option to buy back item(s) i sold to a npc as precaution for accidental sales.
Its a common feature in other games and would fit PS very well too.

Questions for implementation:
- Should the list be global or npc specific? (buyback only where you sold it)
I tend to make it npc specific as it makes sense and would prevent abuse (e.g. for transportation).

- Add a timer how long the buyback of a sold item is aviable? Its probably easier to add and lighter on ressources to keep a fixed global item amount then adding a timer.

- How many items should be stored to be aviable to buy back? In my opinion a global maximum of 10.

- Should there be an additional fee for buying an already sold item back? I’d say it would make sense. The NPC-buy price of the particular item could be used, since the calculation is already implemented.

- How does it fit into the UI? It could be added in the BUY-from-npc list of the particular NPC. It would only show up when there is something aviable to buy back, similar to how the SELL-to-npc list handles it now.

Any thoughts or ideas?

Feature Request5914NoQuestsMediumUnconfirmedErodare LenizusSkill Requirements and Time Locks28.02.20131 Task Description

Most quests start with an intro and a confirmation for the player to accept the quest. For those that have skill requirements and/or time locks, instead of hiding the quest completely, perhaps it would be better to expose such quests when the character is otherwise qualified (e.g completed other quests in the chain) and do the skill / time check in the intro steps and have the NPC inform the character that they need to practice more before they can continue, or say something along the lines of "too busy right now, come back tomorrow". This way the player will know the quest is there, and get a hint of what they need to do. Going around and touching all the NPC's and finding nothing just feels like a bug when one knows there should be quests out there someplace.

Feature Request6221NoMagic SystemMediumUnconfirmedErodare LenizusOver-charged Mana Cost18.11.20135 Task Description

1) For damage capped spells, sliding the power bar above the point where max damage is produced, mana cost is over-charged against the character, in addition to lowering success chance and increasing casting time more than appropriate.

2) If the kill shot (magic) produces more damage than needed to finish off the target, full mana cost is charged even if not needed.

I think it would be more appropriate if the mana cost was down-scaled to the net effect:
- if target only has 30 hit points left, a 60-point damage spell should only charge half the mana
- if target only needs 5 hit points to be fully healed, a 60-point healing spell should only charge 1/12th of the mana cost
- for area spells, calculate against sum effect on all impacted targets.
- if you’re going to cap damage, should also cap mana cost and not over-penalize in success chance and cast time when the slider is set too high

Where I’ve referenced the magic power slider above, same should be true for spell commands that explicitly have a power value
- i.e. “/cast 90 Taste of Death”

Justification: The mage should be able to determine if a “light touch” will suffice, but players have no way to turn down magic power to improve success chance and/or reduce mana cost and casting time.

Taking this a step further, practice and experience perhaps should be similarly down-scaled, with the possibility of giving none if no actual effect is the result (this would impact spam casting for power-leveling).

Feature Request6222NoMagic SystemMediumUnconfirmedErodare LenizusDial Down Magic Power18.11.20132 Task Description

Objective: Let mages dial down the power to suit their needs of the moment, and accordingly the mana cost, time to cast, improved success chance.

The /cast command should accept power values from -99 to +99

The power slider should center at zero and sliding left should dial down to -99 and sliding right should dial up to +99

Perhaps -50 to +50 would work better?

Perhaps practice and experience should be dialed down accordingly as well?

I’m filing this as a bug report, because either this should be “fixed” so we can map shortcuts to such keys so they will still work while chatting, or the team can decide this is “not a bug” and close it.

The “fix” therefore, is to trap only those keys that chatbox can deal with, and forward anything else to the shortcut processor, so while typing in chat W A S D would be trapped in chat, and F3 would fire the shortcut it’s mapped to.

As it stands, I’m very familiar with FlySpray from working on other projects so the typo was trivial for me, but other players might not be so keen. I think an easy way of “fixing” the issue of typos for common resources would be to allow Advisors to have encapsulated snippets containing the links. a few examples would be;

(fs) would be replaced with http://www.hydlaaplaza.com/flyspray

(forums) would be replaced with http://www.planeshift.it/forums.html

(guide) would be point to http://www.planeshift.it/quickstart.html

Bug Report6477NoEngineMediumUnconfirmedGonger"/target next" skips over targets23.05.20142 Task Description

During the last Dev Meeting, there was a good discussion about looting problems, especially after killing multiple opponents.
Aliasing with “/target next” does not solve the problem, because several players confirmed that this command tends to skip corpses.

Therefore Eredin asked for this ticket as a reminder to check the command.

Feature Request6788NoUser InterfaceMediumUnconfirmedGongerJoe LyonSplit up System tab information18.03.201511 Task Description

System tab: Could the information there be split up further, like for the logs, into something like combat, crafting, soul commands (emotes and interaction commands like /greet), so you can have more control what is shown in Main tab?

This was briefly discussed in the Dev meeting (22/02/2015), and should be assigned to Eredin.

Thank you.
