If I can sell Venge I can sell anything, right?

Of course I am.   :P

EDIT: Hit the \"Submit\" button before I was done.  o.O;;

*smiles brightly*  Vengeance is a great guy with an excellent sense of humor and fair treatment.  He gives most people more chances than they deserve and removes/locks only extremely bad topics.  With an easy going attitude - unless prodded into attack - and level head, Venge keeps the masses at bay while letting those who wish to earnestly chat do so.  If he were such a problem, Venge would have more people against him than a mere handful and booted out the door shortly after.

Be thankful I am not a Moderator...  I delete double-posts, delete one-line posts, delete spam, edit posts with cursing, lock flames and out-of-hand topics, and only give people two warnings before I ban them.   :D

Being a Moderator on Forums is akin to a policeman on duty...  People never have a problem with cops until they\'re pulled over/arrested even though they knew they were doing something stupid/illegal.

We\'re here to keep the peace, not disrupt it.   :))

Nah, I think average SAT score is 995.  Or at least that\'s what Google says...  It is down from 1020.   :)

Technical Help: Problems BEFORE entering the game /

Keldorn, I understand what you are saying and do agree to some extent.  My fianc? is a Unix Systems Administrator and has been for the past 8 years.  His main gripe about his occupation is when people expect help with little to no information supplied about their problem.  However, he does love his job.  ~_^

I must support Vengeance on this subject.

Example: Think of people in tech support/sys admin. as computer doctors.  When you go to the doctor because your arm hurts, you don\'t just say, \"My arm hurts.\"  Said doctor will try to get as much information from you as possible; i.e. if you strained it, what your diet is (heart related), if you spilled something on it (chemical burn), etc.

No one is a mind reader.  Period.

This is why, when posting technical issues, the support requires information because - just like people\'s bodies - all computers are different.  It takes about a minute to list out personal computer components and is not too much to ask.  We\'re here to help everyone.  We cannot assist anyone if they give us nothing to go on, hence requirements when posting.   :))

I hope that gives people a better understanding about trouble-shooting.

EDIT: TheDeath

You need to upgrade from PS 0.2.006 to PS 0.2.007.  However, you must download the new Updater from the main webpage (I\'m not sure if you have done this or not) before you can run the Updater.

http://www.planeshift.it/download/updater_007.zip

After you download that, unzip it into your main PlaneShift folder and overwrite the files.

Attempt to run the Updater.  If the updater does not run and you get an error message about \"MSVCP70.dll\" (because you\'re using WinXP Pro), go to this webpage and get the Microsoft .dll fix.  Drop said file into your main PlaneShift Directory.

http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvcp70

If you have already done this, TheDeath, then my apologies for prattling on so.  *crosses fingers and hopes it\'s the missing updater problem*

 :D

Greetings, TheDeath.  I am afraid your posts are lacking in the information we need to help find your problem.  Might I direct you to a thread which show one what to post when they\'re announcing an issue, they will help everyone.

http://www.planeshift3d.com/forum/thread.php?threadid=1133&boardid=17&styleid=2

Give us that info and maybe we can decipher your issue.   :))

Public announcement:  Kahlisi does not, I repeat not, like being questioned about her actions.

However, I\'m in a good mood this evening, so I\'ll humor you, Ravenmaster, and answer your inquiries.

1.)  I like the word flippant.  It rolls off the tongue... It\'s fun to say; like: superfluous, surreptitious, macabre, undulating, quasi...  My list of preferred words is rather long.

2.)  I generally edit my posts to fix spelling errors (perfectionist am I) and add in a few words here/there to make my meanings more obvious...  A person in my station can never be too clear because if you are not, the raving masses jump on you like rabid gerbils.   :D

EDIT: Oh, and if I do edit something of merit, I\'ll put it at the bottom noted by \"EDIT\".

EDIT #2: I do not know why individuals on these Forums are unable to use the EDIT feature; it is not complicated.  Eh, I guess we\'ll have spammers double-posting everywhere.   ;)

EDIT #3: One last thing, I like \"rabid\", too.  You\'ll see it quite a bit in my posts...  Things such as \"rabid gerbils\" and \"paranoid pole cats\" are humorous.

I feel that Forum Rank does not mean you can/cannot be flippant to new members.  Other people have been probationed/banned for \"voicing\" themselves in quasi to fully hostile manners despite having tons of posts.

Perhaps, if one wishes to make someone feel impish about asking a question answered somewhere, they should link to these pages.  It only adds to the fire and is a bit more helpful (and not frowned upon unlike other activities).

Just a thought.   :))

Kinoss, to me it sounded like Kortalh was asking for a way to not hold down the Shift key all the time.  I understand about a Toggle Run/Walk mode - I\'ve been gaming for many years - and the importance it carries.  He made no mention of the arrow keys, just Shift.  :))

Currently, the \'r\' key right now is the only way anyone can toggle a quasi-run/walk mode.  Perhaps it will be changed in the future, I don\'t know, I\'m Settings and shall not put my foot in my mouth.  It is a good suggestion, one I plan on pointing out to the Team.

I believe you may be referring to file \"MSVCP70.dll\".  We\'ve already had plenty of posts about it on both our Technical Help board and our Molecular Blue bug reporting Forum.  Here is a link to one of those threads:

I hope that helps.   :))

Well, if you end it where it currently is, yeah, it\'s rather abrupt.  If you flesh your ideas out throughout the entire essay a bit more, and the last sentence of \" No longer could American government so easily hide under such a thick vail of nationalism, using its citizens own love of there country to silence them\" changed to present tense instead of past/possibility (No longer CAN the American Government, et cetera).  It gives an added \"umph\" to the meaning of the piece giving it a dramatic ending that sticks in the minds of readers.

I like the overall thought process; you have a strong writing style and show your opinions well.  Your thesis, if a bit muddled and hard to find in the first read-through, is of good topic.  The ending of the essay leaves a bit to be desired.  Perhaps it is an unfinished work (like you stated)?

My only \"gripes\" toward this piece are aesthetic: structure (sentence, paragraph, and total), punctuation (it happens to the best of us), shortening of words (mic instead of microphone), and misuse of homonyms (it should be \"which\" instead of \"witch\").

Excellent work, so far!  Continue to flesh out your ideas and thought processes; it will land an agreeable mark.   :))

Perhaps if you listed your computer specs (i.e. what\'s inside, processor, RAM, video card) we would be better able to discern your individual problem.   :))

Some people on the Windows platform - not all, though - need to download the above file that I linked.  It is nothing missing on the PlaneShift side, persay, and wasn\'t included on Microsoft\'s end.

Just drag and drop the file into your PlaneShift Directory and you\'ll be good!   :))

Fan - I believe \"CC\" means \"crowd control\".  (Could be wrong, though, I have been before.)   :))
