General Discussion / Weather in Yliakum

As I've mentioned elsewhere I've been out of the game for around 2 years so this may be an irrelevant question.Also,my computer is having some issues with the game so I can't check this myself.
Settings questions;
Does it rain in Yliakum?
Where does the rain come from?
Are there seasons?

I assume its some changes in the crystal accounts for seasons,but things like wind or rain doesnt really work in an underground closed world.Can anyone tell me if there's a reason for it,if not I can science up some reasons if they aren't in game

Well,as we all know this game is an incomplete work adn for anyone who has/is advising knows the weird problems people find so perhaps consolidating this in a seperate forum to the "newbie help" could ease the whole process

Technical Help: Problems BEFORE entering the game / can't enter server

possibly a windows problem,but i'm running vista and the client loads up finr when i click "join" the load screen shows(blue bar empty) then i get a ("not responding") message
i have tried waiting i have tried to let windows find a solution but all it does is shut down

In-Game Roleplay Events / The Organisation's Organisation of a Fair

the organisation's organising again
we the organisation wish to organise a fair in the plaza for sunday evening next [between 19:00 and 23:00 GMT]
on show we will have :a weapons stall,crafting stall
#also we hope to organise competitions fo the main attraction[20:00-21:00]numbers permitting such as:
#spot/cash prize for most attractive stall set up
#"fashion show"[for most attractive/racially suitable IC descriptions]
#duel tournament
#possibly,a raffle with tickets sold[will,mostlikely,be drawn by dice roll]
we would also like to petition to all merchants,fighter,fashionista's and fellow clans to try and get this working
[any volunteers please send me a tell]

so that's hydlaa plaza,[19:00-23:00] with events between [20:00-21:00] all finance's are self provided and the organisation does not acceot responsiblity for money/item loss or bad turn-outs

Technical Help: IN GAME bugs (after loading world) / lack of sound

i haven't been playing long and i've heard there is sound in planeshift (oxymoron?)
anyway i have seen the thread on the fix for it but i know absolutely nothing about computers so i was wondering if anyone could walk me through t
