Keldorn, I understand what you are saying and do agree to some extent. My fianc? is a Unix Systems Administrator and has been for the past 8 years. His main gripe about his occupation is when people expect help with little to no information supplied about their problem. However, he does love his job. ~_^
I must support Vengeance on this subject.
Example: Think of people in tech support/sys admin. as computer doctors. When you go to the doctor because your arm hurts, you don\'t just say, \"My arm hurts.\" Said doctor will try to get as much information from you as possible; i.e. if you strained it, what your diet is (heart related), if you spilled something on it (chemical burn), etc.
No one is a mind reader. Period.
This is why, when posting technical issues, the support
requires information because - just like people\'s bodies - all computers are different. It takes about a minute to list out personal computer components and is not too much to ask. We\'re here to help everyone. We cannot assist anyone if they give us nothing to go on, hence requirements when posting.
)
I hope that gives people a better understanding about trouble-shooting.

EDIT: TheDeath
You need to upgrade from PS 0.2.006 to PS 0.2.007. However, you must download the new Updater from the main webpage (I\'m not sure if you have done this or not) before you can run the Updater.
http://www.planeshift.it/download/updater_007.zip After you download that, unzip it into your main PlaneShift folder and overwrite the files.
Attempt to run the Updater. If the updater does not run and you get an error message about \"MSVCP70.dll\" (because you\'re using WinXP Pro), go to this webpage and get the Microsoft .dll fix. Drop said file into your main PlaneShift Directory.
http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvcp70 If you have already done this, TheDeath, then my apologies for prattling on so. *crosses fingers and hopes it\'s the missing updater problem*
