If you recognize the name Zorbels >.>

Those I played with in community would recognize me. Was around pretty much from the start of PS. Was my home for many of years. It's fine if you don't recognise me because SUPRISE ""who the hell are you?" lol

Does Dylia exist still, too?

Hey there LigH! Yup, she still exists. We miss this place and remember our fond memories and friends made. Funny how years later I am telling my daughter (was a baby when I started and is 13 now) of the stories that we wrote here and the friends her father (Stronith) and I made. Tried to put into words the magic that took place here. That's why I eneded up here last night, looking for my old stories and community stories written together to show her.

Good to see you and happy RPing.  :)

General Discussion / Worst Auto Correct EVER!!!

:-\ Thought I would share my horrifying experience here since this is a roleplaying community and what the hell ... its good for a laugh.  ;D

So, I'm in a random game checking it out on my phone and a player approaches me and asks "Do you like to Roleplay?" through the mailing system in game. I reply "I used too. Played a game called PlaneShift and was very invested into the community for quite some time. I've slowed down with the RPing these past few years. I enjoy it!"

Well, my phones auto correct changed RPing into Raping. *sigh  HORRIFIED!!!!!

A chance to say hello to apis!!!!!  :woot:

*pounces the poor dwarf before he has a chance to brace himself "I always had to hunt you down when I couldn't find Proglin to answer my questions or sell me the weapons I needed. You always came through and I miss the ol' way of the hammer crew. You were an outstanding guild! And loyal companions! I will forever be in your debt."

:flowers: I miss RPing with ya apis. Hope life is treating you good!

:flowers: Happy Strawberry Day, Zorbels!

Why thank you LigH! I very much appreciate the happy birthday wishes. I, as a matter of fact did have strawberry shortcake for my birthday cake and as always it was amazing.  Yes, some things never change. I fear this thread has become more of a post count for LigH than a thread for birthday wishes!  ;D *runs before he throws something at her

Complaint Department / Re: Responsiviness of Dev/GM team

Sticking to one's claims and promises would be a start.
I did previously consider joining Planeshift anew, raising the idea of name change changes to bring forth a fresh start to Role-players of old.

I was told a variation of the concept was in the works, weeks of discussion passing before I realized the futility in pressing the cause.
I was told that an answer would be given, for better or worse, yet none was received. Months now having passed.

It would be naive to uphold a sense of trust, as well as contribute to a project shrouded in deception.
If a request is denied by the general consensus of the time, simply say so rather than make a month long song and dance about it.

Having previously enjoyed Planeshift for years, I write so not to insult. But clarity is something I've perceived to be ridiculously lacking.

This is the best, most polite way I have seen it put.  Talad (and others who have any authority to make changes without having to answer to Talad first), I completely agree with Jacula statement and think you should really consider it. Like Jacula, I played PS for many years. I have come to the same opinion. This is how I felt when working with the rules of both being a player and GM. Lack of clarity, direction and trust.

I love PS and I think it has great potential. I have met a great deal of wonderful, talented people in this community. Finding the talent isn't the problem, its what Jacula had pointed out in his/her post. Just my two cents worth.

 My pup used to sleep with me but she grew up in these past few months and is very particular about having her own bed. I don't mind, especially taking into consideration she's a huge bed hog!

What is the weirdest thing you will ever admit to having done in the past?

What if I have no friends, can I bring my cat?...oh wait PS has too many of those already.

Maybe if there where more then 5 player models things would change :P

 LOL! Sorry ....  it's just,  I remember when we all had to look the same with one player model. Grey hair with the green outfit. Having five different models would have been crazy talk!

there is a way that just need 23 quests done in order to get winch access... most of them are very easy to do... it took my alt two days of questing in order to get a rivnak...

;) It's not THAT easy! Believe me,  I had the determination and time a couple of weeks ago. I found my experience to be not pleasant. Quite confusing and not easy to follow. I am sure if I had not taken a three year break, I would be up to speed and know where to find the answers, so I am humbled to be able to see this from a newbie point of view.

I used my quest book to keep track of the NPC's instructions to the quests they gave me. I marked which quest linked to which and that is how I discovered that my quest to acquire the rivnak was broken. The NPC that should have a certain option for me to chose, did not provide that option. I tried the lawful way. I decided since that way was broken, I could go the shady way. Not so, as I have a quest now broken there too. I'm not entirely sure at this point what to do.  :surrender:

I like Bilbous idea. There needs to be a system in place to help the gamer understand where they are at with their quests.

This one is my favorite. Times well with my coming back and having to renew my ring of familiar.  I looked through your comic thread and I enjoyed my time there. Looking forward to what you come up with next.

To be honest, if I hadn't seen Zorbel's name in the thread, I would even have done more than look at the main forum page.

Thanks Illysia, it is very humbling to be remembered. This place was once like a home to me.

After spending time in game after a three year break, I'm pretty sure I can come to an idea of what happened to the RPing community. It has been overly discussed I am sure and I probably have nothing new to add.

:-\ I do have voice these thoughts of mine though. The only regret that I have is when I was in a position of power to promote RP for this game, I felt my hands were tied.  I was never able to prosper and thrive as the RPing Gm I knew I could be. This part of the project (I felt) had no direction and judging by how many are on board now .... well, must be the same ol' system. It bothers me to know how close Talad was to having a very well put together GM team, both for the technical side of the game and the RPing side. Unfortunately, those hardcore RPing GM's burnt out because we put all we had into our RPs and events. The process was just to slow. Frustration eventually wears down even the most patient of us.

Hopefully, PlaneShift will see RPer's to the volume it was, again someday. Hopefully old mistakes can be fixed to house the new body of PlaneShifters.

:woot: To those of you who made this game for me back then and lurk behind the forums once and awhile, Thanks! I have some pretty awesome memories here. I will ALWAYS be a fan of this place.
