General Discussion / System Stats
« on: January 29, 2009, 09:48:43 am »
What are your system stats? Specifically how much ram do you have and what graphics card and ram on it do you have? How well does PlaneShift run on your machine? Due to low ram or low video ram do you have to use certain tweaks to get the game running? Post any info here to answer the above. This info does have a use even if it does not seem it does you to.

General Discussion / GUI mods
« on: January 21, 2009, 04:09:44 pm »
Please cast your vote for which gui mods you would like to see on laanx. I am not guaranteeing that any of these will get ingame soon but it will give the devs an idea of what you as players would like to see.

the mods that are in this poll are ones that work on all 3 current gui skins and dont require new art or code changes to make them work. Also all mods included work by default with no features being disabled by using them.

You can ONLY vote for up to 9 options

Forum and Website Discussions / General discussion not a server issue
« on: January 21, 2009, 03:56:46 pm »
How is http://www.hydlaaplaza.com/smf/index.php?board=63.0, the former general discussion board for the new server related to server issues? all the threads that are in that board are not related to how the server works they are general threads.

Am i missing something here?

General Discussion / upgrade of the bug tracker
« on: January 11, 2009, 06:17:39 pm »
Thanks to Acraig and the move to the new server we have gotten the bug tracker updated to the newest trunk version.
This gives us many options that we did not have before, this also might give us some bugs due to this not being a stable release.

we can select the format for the time that we want to use and show up in many places on the tracker, this can be set in the user user panel [click on your username on top left corner]
Code: [Select]
  %a - abbreviated weekday name
  %A - full weekday name
  %b - abbreviated month name
  %B - full month name
  %d - day of the month (01 to 31)
  %D* - same as %m/%d/%y
  %e* - day of the month (1 to 31)
  %H - hour using a 24-hour clock (range 00 to 23)
  %I - hour using a 12-hour clock (range 01 to 12)
  %m - month as a number (01 to 12)
  %M - minute as a number
%p - either "am" or "pm" according to the given time
  %R* - time in 24 hour notation
  %S - second as a decimal number
  %T* - current time, equal to %H:%M:%S
  %y - 2 digit year (00 to 99)
  %Y - 4 digit year
%Z - time zone or name or abbreviation
  %% - a literal '%' character

We also can set our own options for the lists to be sorted on login in the user panel.

For testers and devs we can now view all private bugs without being assigned to them.

For Players please do NOT check the Confidential option when making a bug unless you think it might be a spoiler then please make sure a tester or dev on irc is notified that it exists, or pm one of the testers on the forum.

Some of the catagories are missing or have changed from the old tracker the testing team will work on making new documentation for such changes.

you can also hide your contact info in the user panel

if you find a bug in the tracker report it to http://bugs.flyspray.org/

we are aware that the task catagories are missing we are trying to fix this asap if it is possible

Mac OSX Specific Issues / one location for all your ps support apps...
« on: December 18, 2008, 03:37:08 pm »
Hi,

I have made a simple website with directions on how to use all the applications i have made, that help mac users get their client to work. You can view the site at http://PlaneShift.Caarrie.org/. Comments on the site are welcome. If more apps are made in the future they will appear on that site. The main Applications to help you in getting your client running are located on the utilities page.

I hope the time that has been put into getting this all working will make it easier to help you all and make running the game easier for all.

Mac OSX Specific Issues / What are my system stats??
« on: December 11, 2008, 01:04:04 pm »
Many times on the forum someone asks the poster for their system stats, and many have no idea what to give the following program will help you out.
download the following program, unzip it and run it like any other app, in this case it does not matter what folder you run it in
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?nmzkigddzxm
you can also download it from http://mirror.psde.de/util/caarrie/System+Stats.zip

after you have run you will get output like the following

as the directions say highlight the info and copy and paste it into the thread that requested your system stats
so my system stats are the following:
Code: [Select]
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
      Processor Speed: 2.2 GHz
      Number Of Processors: 1
      Model Name: MacBook
      Memory: 1 GB
      Chipset Model: GMA X3100
      VRAM (Total): 144 MB
          Resolution: 1280 x 800
ProductVersion: 10.5.5

10
download http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?zytz4zmzzit and unzip it into your planeshift folder, double click on the app and it will run planeshift with the terminal app open, if there are any crashes you can then highlight and copy/paste the output to the forum. to use the above app you MUST have installed Planeshift in your /Applications/PlaneShift folder.
other location to download is http://mirror.psde.de/util/caarrie/run+PlaneShift.zip
There are times when trying to figure out what is going on with a crash that we need a slightly different output from the client a verbose one. the following app will provide us that output
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?20zu2mnj0qj or http://mirror.psde.de/util/caarrie/run+PlaneShift+Verbose.zip

same as the others it requires you to have psclient in /Applications/PlaneShift/

Mac OSX Specific Issues / want to see the process of the updater ??
« on: December 11, 2008, 11:20:44 am »
With the help of Platypus and an applescript i was able to make an app that launches the updater in terminal so that all you have to do is double click on the app and it does the rest for you.
we have 2 versions of the updater, one that is the standard updater, and a second that runs the repair command. We also have 2 choices of icons to be used with the app.
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?241ujmxanzd or http://mirror.psde.de/util/caarrie/run+updater.zip
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?tuuwdtjnfey or http://mirror.psde.de/util/caarrie/repair+updater.zip
the above updaters have the below icon:

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?o5jiqgiwmto  or http://mirror.psde.de/util/caarrie/run+updater_u.zip
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?mmnqe3ogcmd or http://mirror.psde.de/util/caarrie/repair+updater_u.zip
the above updaters have the below icon:

simply unzip the app into your ps folder. NOTE required to run these apps successfully you MUST have installed planeshift in /Applications/PlaneShift and not changed the name of any of the apps within that folder.

You can click on the terminal icon from the dock to view the progress of the application

General Discussion / Lists of bugs.
« on: December 06, 2008, 05:57:43 pm »
The following bug reports contain lists of bugs that are to be fixed, if you are reporting a bug related to any of these topics please check all the bugs that are dependent on these before making a new report.

List of map bugs
List of missing or incorrect inventory icons
List of all magic related issues
List of all GM/Dev requests
List of introduction system bugs

Please do not request us add bugs to these lists unless they have been confirmed and we have missed adding them.

This post is just to inform you of the existance of these lists, they were made to help the testing team as well as devs and we hope players find reports that may be dups of these major issues.

As many of you have used the updater a few times in recent releases it is important to note that
CheckIntegrity has been REPLACED with -repair or --repair

CheckIntegrity does not work anymore.

The following chat types have been changed please do not report bug on these:

- "X tells group: y" -> "X says: y"
- "Guildchat from x: y" -> "X says: y"

In MAIN chat you can toggle if it shows the chat type in brackets or not, the text saved in your logs will have the brackets so that you can tell where the chat came from.
