maybe it could be a benefit thing, almost like an allegiance

u become the apprentice to someone who\'s mastered that craft and in return u get benefits, other then his personal help, like getting a bonus in what you craft (a better chance to make items) or even just learn recipes that ur master knows

i think if they added \"mage stones\" and give them some unique twist to them (like increased stats in certain magics to just plain adding them to items or slots with stats on them of course, ect.)

maybe someone like an enchanter can makem, and mage wood for making staves, wands, ect. to increase magics as well

theres alot of things that could be thought up, the problem is time :( if you notice it already takes a long time to update the game, but the good thing is it\'s all worth it

thx for all the info, i knew if i posted something i\'d get alot of info in return :)

but i was serious about making levels \"worth\" more

that way instead of hardly seeing anything with each level up (the only technical term for it i guess) you cant actualy gain anything, BUT gaining skills wouldnt be too bad if you could actualy feel the effects (not exactly every 1, but maybe every few skills, maybe raises to where it takes alot to notice the effects)

and ya i wasnt too sure about the leveling up thing, i noticed it was kind of slow atm, but im sure it only gets faster cause of how it\'s setup, im sure once another big update comes (more mobs, ect.) more things might become available

but atm i\'d rather them work on getting alot of working skills, items, ect. working

and i noticed we need to be able to move slightly faster sometime in the future (if the game is going to be bigger)

but this is a good thread to give the mods some ideas on how to improve skills and such

number 2 and 3 wouldnt be as hard to implement NOW as if it were later

cause atm the world is still rather small (compared to what it WILL be) so implementing rope tying points (even before climbing is completed) would still help them alot IF they were to do it

personaly i think they should take some kind of stake and allow someone to hammer it into the ground (rope will be tied to it) and allowed to go off a cliff (there should be a set point of where it\'s hammered in), it could be used by going to a cliff (or being so close to it) and then try to use the stake, if your close enough he\'ll turn around and go so far away from the cliff, hammer the stake, and u know the rest.

now that in theory sounds good, but we\'ll have to see what they do (personaly my idea might be better, but with different types of stakes to improve how much weight can be put on it before it drops you)

NOTE:: we need a run skill to increase our running speed :D (otherwhys boots that increase would be cool)

Wish list / a faster way or a more efficient way to level up
« on: May 24, 2005, 08:26:55 pm »
the topic says it all, i think a faster way or even more efficient way to level up will be 1 of 2 things

1. make it slightly (not too much) easier to level up
or
2. make leveling up seem more worthwhile, cause every 4 levels i can get sword up 1 skill, but i dont notice much to it

it may be just me, as well as the game still being far from complete, but this is just another suggestion that doesnt need to be heard if its not needed

if ur every going to put jobs in, it should be craft-wise, cause combat jobs limit the game too much.

career jobs are fine for crafting reasons (and you can gain the title that job offers)

Wish list / magic idea
« on: May 18, 2005, 10:02:49 pm »
this is how it would work, using the current magic system and all (remember that i dont know hardly anything about magic, so yall can help me out)

since magic is split into the different schools, they each have their own \"unique\" set of magic spells.

1. the more you cast magic of 1 school the more magic points you get for that school

2. use the points to get specualized magic spells for that school (nothing really special, just a bonus for using that type of magic enough)

3. these \"special\" spells are just as powerful as any other spell, BUT their just rewards for training in that magic school enough, making it so eventualy its alot harder to gain points for new spells

note: this COULD work along with the current system (as i said before i dunno much about it, about to get back into the game yet again), since all it does is add \"points\" to a certain school of magic depending on how much you use it

and this could work with melee/range schools IF they get skills about the same way as magic

any help to change this to work well enough without giving anyone too many advantages/unbalance things/screw up the current combat system (magic, melee, and even range)

PvP,PK and Thieving / my pick pocketing ideas
« on: September 03, 2004, 10:20:27 am »
for pick pocketing i think u should be able to only pick pocket NPCs, and if your a PK u can pick pocket players as well, cause if your planning on dieing you might as well plan on gettin pick pocketed

other then that i say pick pocketing should try and be as unique as it can be

ok i didnt read too much of it but heres my ideas of how taming and capturing should work

ok for starters
1. capture a monster or animal
2. tame and train the monster/animal
3. give it commands (such as defend master, defend player, defend another pet, attack mob, neutral or dont attack)
4. train it some more to make it stronger
5. some monsters/animals hate being controled and need to be retamed again

kinda like that

and for other things i think being able to capture any monster would be cool, so like some ppl could capture a spell caster monster of any kind (if its humanoid its considered a slave but its still a pet)

and being able to improve your pets in many ways would be cool too, such as being able to teach them certain things, teaching some magic-less monsters only basic spells (lvl 1-type spells and healing magic)

Wish list / new town idea
« on: September 03, 2004, 09:43:24 am »
now i dunno if this or something like it has been thought of (havnt been here in months), but my idea is this

just like the crystal hunts we have now, i think a town should be made of crystals the buildings, ground, everything

and i think it should be underground too since its reasonable to say that while its underground you can make everything crystal except the tunnel leading out

maybe, but then again u shouldnt have something like green farts or whatever, that isnt exactly fun, its stupid, but anyways, no fun magic is only for show and events, such as yes a water balloon fight, paint ball fight (basicly paint filled balloons but very small), or whatever u can think of, its not ment for griefing, even though yes it could get annoying if ppl were throwing big water balloons into a group of ppl, maybe make it lag alittle worse?

but if it does get added there needs to be a way to remove the animations for it, on ur side anyways
