Newbie Help (Start Here) / can't access old account
« on: June 23, 2019, 03:20:12 am »
Hello,

I have not played this game in a very, very long time. But a youtube video popped up in my feed to remind me about it!

I was able to login to this old account for the forums, but when I try to login on the main website it says there is no account matching the email/account name I'm using for these forums. Any ideas how I could get that back? Or was it all deleted at some point?

Definitely would have to say Muse. The entire Black Holes and Revelations album = amazing.

Heh, I doubt anyone even remembers me it's been so long since I've played this game. I just thought about it today for some reason :D

Maybe I'll take a break from WoW some time to see how it's progressed...

Ah, so the wipe hasn't actually happened at all yet, that's good.  I just wanted to make sure my character was still safe for the time being, because I'd hate to lose him (I've had him since '03  ;D).  I recently formatted and don't have the game, nor do I have the means to download it just yet either, so I'm glad all is well for now!

Err, I haven't played in a while, so this is confusing me.  Was there a wipe recently or something?

I didn't read this entire topic, but I have an idea for auctions:

You advertise your item, and it's clickable in the chat box.
When you click the auction you want, it opens a new window.
There could be a few options in this new "special" auction window: chat, make an offer, time limit, etc.

There, it's efficient, keeps things organized, nobody can "cheat" the auction since anyone can choose to participate and therefore see any offers that have been made.  It's just a suggestion :D

Nah, the 360 has one processor with 3 cores (and they are in-order processing).

People use quad Optys?  That\'s freaking insane O.o

I know it\'s probably in a really high end server, but still, that\'s powerful 8o

Yes, for the most part, but dual proc has pretty much went away since the PIII days (unless you count xeons).

The only real reason I was asking about this is because some games require that you turn off one of your cores for the program to run right.  I\'ve yet to need that done, but I\'ve read that it was a pretty big issue for a lot of people :P

I don\'t mean dual proc, I mean dual core.  I have one processor with 2 cores on it (an Athlon X2), and I was just wondering about the support.  While PS doesn\'t really even need it IMO (it isn\'t a very intensive program), it works much better whenever it\'s implemented into the software, because Windows/Linux can\'t make it fully efficient.  Hell, many people have to turn off one of the cores for certain programs (I, however haven\'t yet for some reason).

And no, it isn\'t very important at all.  I mean, you can probably run PS max with a 6800GS and a A64 3000+...

General Discussion / Dual Core Support?

Are there any plans for true dual core support in PS?  Will that much power ever be needed anyway?  The game works fine as is, I\'m just wondering ?(

What exactly is the business model for this, though?  How on earth can you really expect to have literally thousands upon thousands of people, all hosted on servers with no advertising?  I mean, so far everything is good, but what about when there is a need for like the 4th, 5th, or 20th server?  Then what?

Servers are by no means cheap (or the bandwidth that you need to use them), so what\'s the game plan here?  All donations?  That will get stale over time ?(
