Well, I've started the comic off. It's in this thread (http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=27898.0).
I could always use some back-up artists, or guest comics, or all that other stuff, so don't hesitate to ask...

Shouldn't you ask people first if they are happy with what you will do? some people can be touchy about their chars identity. But feel free to use mine, I don't care if its all in good fun.

I intend to stick most of you in. And hopefully most of you wont like it ;D
And I also intend to involve most people whenever I use them, or at least if I use their actual character - whether I ask them for permission or even let them write their own responses to some of the jokes that are directed at them.
I'm quite heavily influenced by South Park in my humour (though I'm not too big a fan of disgusting stuff like gore or toilet humour - unless it's really necessary...), so be warned...

Alright, here's a little taster for you. It's an experimental strip I did sans-artist (he was taking too long :P).
I've been fiddling with scripts and plots a lot, so this is a bit different from the strip I gave my artist to do.

Before you ask - yes that's Chazarus in the first panel ;D. He's there because I'm still trying to figure out what one of my original characters (Argetos) looks like. In the original plotline I have, Argetos is heading to the arena to bully rogues, rather than to the tavern to get drunk...
Anyway, what do you guys think?
Edit: Aww man, those commie bastards shrinked it down, even though I was just 0.04 mb over the limit... (should be 600 x 900 instead of 400 x 600...) This is why I prefer photobucket...

"You speak strangly, I am not interested in that" or
"No no, we will not manage to understand each other this way" or
"If you do not start making sence, I will have you commited" or even
"I will not give anything for free, try and earn your rewards...no tasks for you today"

I humbly disagree ^^ I think the ludicrously retardness is a bit... silly. I think you could do something a lot more clever with the NPCs. I agree they shouldn't make much sense, but just differently to what you have at the moment.
Just as an example you could have harnquist as a psycho killer mentality dude, maybe a very polite psycho killer mentality dude.

Well anyway, thats my view, being completely retarded will maybe be funny for the first two cartoons, but it will get boring eventually. Otherwise this whole cartoon is a potentially excellent idea.

Yeah, you're right. Which is why every NPC is weird and non-sensical in a different way. For example, the Death Guardian script I made a while ago...

Winch Security grabs Chicano and leads him to a cell, where he stays for 2 months, and then is extraditated back to Hydlaa.

oh man, i missed fan art section too badly, been way too long... Jeeewiz-- i really liked that harny comic--I was laughing soooo loud [not sarcasm btw, fully on the level] i am sure i could even read that same comic over & over & crack up several times in a row-- if i still played the game i'd offer 2k trias a week to have new strips of that comic... even in just text form...probably more as just text-- part of me had the image in mind of someone just standing in front of harnquist saying that, & the text all comming up on chat console-- including harn changing to a "bloody" stance...--my own mental edit-- anyway I wanted to say thanks. i needed a good laugh -- and wooo--eee i got one...
By the way almost off topic-- the talking to death guardian i could easily see myself recording a voice over for a video using that script, preffereably with mostly with first person visuals of d-to-the-g, free rotation shots of the character, a few portions with character blinking --or whatever else char does when idle--if you're able to record from game smoothly, edit video somewhat, sync it up with the audio & such, and feel up to making this with me--assuming M-rald foo' doesn't mind..--get in touch with me, i'll record audio & send ya the file..

I remembered a character from "Thief: The Dark Project" named "Benny" that can be the "Inspiration":
"Benny": A recurring drunkard guard whose mood swings and amusing ramblings made him endearing to fans of the game. The name is informal, but comes from a specific drunken guard in the Sherriff's mansion during the Metal Age. The character's voice is used for a number of different guards throughout the series. In Thief: Deadly Shadows he is at one point called "Sinclair".
Here some quotes from this guy(He is usually drunk):
"A guard's life, protecting people and places. Somehow I thought it'd be — I dunno — more exciting."
"Maybe it was a ghost — whoa, that'd be somethin'!"

That being said, I feel like the title, "LameShift: Cyanide Blue" does not NEARLY live up to my standards, and am often even tempted to take my own life out of disgust with myself, but I always come to my senses just before I run out of air and remember that I didn't come up with it. :P
How about "LameShift: Crystal Meth" or "PlainShift: Country Backroad", a delightful "Little House on a Prarie" themed comic which stresses good family values and foot-stompin', old fashioned fun for everyone.

Hmm, not really. But you might perceive it as a testament to Maeve's devoted, unflinching optimism. She represents those 5-year-old die-hard PS fans that love the world no matter what happens :P

I recently got a program called 'Inkscape', and so I've adapted a new style.
I decided to try it out in #4. What do you guys think? Is it better or worse than the old style?
(I think it took a bit longer than usual, but that might've just been me getting the hang of it...)
