In order to use any of these mods click the link to the xml file, copy all that text and put in the correspoding xml file located in data/gui folder in your ps directory. All of these mods do work with all 3 default skins
to use any of these mods you need the client released in the updater as of august 4th

Nice work! I installed the inventory window and the layout is much better.
The icons around the avatar stand out a little too much though. It kinda looks like something is already equipped and unless the item covers the icons completely they can still be seen. Perhaps if they were not in full color but shaded or outlined? Here's a screenie of what I'm talking about:

See how the boots look cluttered and the pants and belt look like the real thing is equipped? Just a minor detail you might want to tweak (but not a big deal, really). :)

unless i edit the skin there is not much i can do about that, i could make it more transparent but i dont personally like that look with some of the other skins where the background images are more faded to start with.

Well, I think you misunderstood my question. I wanted to know how this new code (not the XML-code) is accessed in the XML-files.

the code that changed was in the client. i just used that ablity to add more columns to the xml files

Caarrie... I LOVE the new mods. I have been running all but your group/info window mods since you released them here. I have 1 problem, and 1 request...
problem first... The "Trias" at the bottom of the smaller inventory window is too scrunched to be readable with the Stone skin. i don't know if this is true with the other skins or not.
request... Info window... there is a second mod on the sourceforge site that I really wanted, but doesn't work currently. I like adding the "weight" and "trias" and "pps" to the bottom of the info window. Normally, while mining or training, I have to either have the inventory window, or the stats/skills window open to view different values. This would help.

I'm still not sure what i was doing wrong, but my attempt to add the extra info failed miserably. I modified your normal size information window slightly, how would I go about posting the changes? Only thing I really did was center the info under the clock and dropped the font size to 6 instead of 8.
Again, thanks a lot for this. I have been looking for changes like this for a while... trying to refine large amounts of ore... and all the scrollbars... I still have nightmares... :)

Missing backgrounds for the "Fingers" and "Mind" slot in your inventory mod. Furthermore, I saw a little dark square to the right of the skill window.
In general, though, they are very useful!

once i find out if the mods will be accepted to use in the official client i will see about making the correct images available. [i have all missing for the skins]

it is 700 px wide so it might have issues on some machines that are at 800x600 enjoy the new window.

Ooooooohhhh... this one is really good, Caarrie. The old one takes up too much space. Good job! Have you tried aligning the ways vertically too? Having two rows can also work (like a miniature of the original).

Well yeah it is. My initial GUI design had all the xml files modded ;D but I then dropped those thought it would have looked much better with the mods.

anyone using my stat and skill window MUST update to the one above to prevent a crash with factions at certain times. This also moves the old doll "spot" further down so it is more out of view.

[EDIT] It appears to still crash as soon as I click anything on the Faction tab. I will try the original skill window and see if it crashes also. (Linux x86_64)
[EDIT2] removed. I had too many -old .orig etc files. The skillwindow from 4.02 does not crash on the faction tab, but it crashed on both versions you have posted in this thread.

it does not crash on me double check that you have the correct file with factiondescription in it, tested in linux 64 bit.
you should see the follow if you do a diff on the 2 files

Caarrie... Is it possible that there was a stale version that got downloaded? I found FactionDescription in the file downloaded earlier, but when I downloaded again and copied it over skillwindow.xml all appears ok.

Caarrie... I really like the concept you have for the merchant window. I had a small issue with the word Trias only showing up as "Tria" with half the "a" fading away into nothing. The only other issue I had, was it seemed very sluggish. This could have been the server, as I was getting lots of odd combat messages again tonight too, but I frequently had to wait up to 10 seconds for the list to refresh after clicking a selection (ie food at Jirosh).
Other than the small type issue, and the (probably server induced) lag, I really like this mod.
[EDIT] Should have mentioned I'm using the stone skin.

I like the merchant window concept so far.
The listing could be about 10 to 18 charaters wider. - Still cuts off names of some weapons that have more than one enchantment on them. - (Very long names. There rair, but I do find them every now and then.)
Background skin for defalt needs a little streach and skew to fit.
Dose the tria amount have to be in such big font?
But so far, so good. Would love to have the refined vershion. I wonder if the final verhsion will be resizeable ;) .

I have merged the 2 versions into one as there was only a one line change between the two
tontow, as much as players like gui elements that can be resized for the person making it resizable it can be a nightmare so i tend to stay away from that ;)

No it's not, it just tells you to paste the new text in, it completely fails to specify whether you delete all the text that was in the original file before you paste the new text in.

Keep in mind that if you use any of the modded windows above you WILL need to update them when the next release comes in the next few months.
the detail windows will work on laanx but the ooc and cc tabs will do nothing along with the moved desc edit button
for the stats/skills window DO NOT update till the comming release unless you want a possible crash on load or no ability to edit your desc.

It appears to me that your mod does not yet contain the "ColorTool" widget in the "illumination.xml" file (which is used to display maps in-game).
