Hi, i'm not sure i i'm right here,
i have a short question about the PS world to discuss.
It's official known (ingame sources) that different races can make kids together.
It's official known that Ynnwn are hybridsof dermorians nd Diaoli.
But whats with other couples? Can a mother born a chil from different race? The library of Harnquist isn't clearly about.
For example a specific case:
A Ynnwn female married a dermorian. Can their kids be Ynnwn AND/OR pure Dermorian or sometimes also pure Diaboli (Because the mother has both genes)?
Are Ynnwns the only mix or will there be more? E.G. a book says, the first Stronghand was a dwarf born a Diaboli.
And what's with the social status? I know, racism is illgal by otarchial degree but between 12 races there maybe is some kind of. Do you hink, there are races who avoid interracial love and would call a mix child a "basterd" or is it normal in Yliakum society?
I ask because i'm writing a short stoy where the main character is planned as Diaboli, who has an unknown (i would like to use) dermorian sister/half sister and they lost in childhood. I know, Ynnwn would be easier to explain, but a beautiful dermorian woman is the complete mirror of a dark Diaboli bad-guy, what'll be the main aspect of the story. Feel free to discuss about this theme, i would like to read dfferent ideas.

Inter racial marriage and reproduction is entirely normal and accepted behaviour, times have been hard for all the races and there is no time nor tolerance for racism. Any social status is entirely derived from the parents status not race
And to answer your first question the race of the offspring of a mixed race couple is entirely down to the will of the gods.

But limiting acceptance into a guild/clan based on race is perfectly fine, amirite?
I'd hate for my lawful clan to be breaking the law by superiorising Kore Enkidukai as the commanders of our clan, due to the militant structuring of the clan in RP.

Well if I read it right it's fine aslong as you select on certain skills that Kore Enkidukai have, but legally it wouldn't be right to exclude someone who has the same skills but happens to be a dermorian.
Then again there are stil enkie cities and kran villages so having a guild with mostly one race wouldn't be to strange either. This whole "there is no racism" is something I have to say lacks realism seeing how the world is build.

It's only because you don't have the full picture yet, when all is revealed then to be racist in game will be the attitude that lacks realism. Instead of saying this lacks realism or that isn't like that in RL use some imagination and work with what has been released.
@Akkaido: Just because your guild is enki/Kore only doesnt make it racist :)

I would assume it is just normal and accepted that there are interracial families - but, the same time, it could be natural for each kind to just prefer to live near and amoung similar people (thus, the race they belong to). For the enkis it is part of the settings even if I remember correctly.
But I think the original question was about which races can get childs together...

As for biology what I understand from "Important medical facts" is
1) Klyros and Kran can't have hybrid kids. They can only adopt them.
2) All other can have halfbreeds. The kid inherits race of one of the parents. Or Diaboli and Elf can have Ynnwn kid.
More intresting is social aspect of it, especially for Kran and Klyros. Klyros' life is short if to compare with others. So marrige of Klyros and for example Elf will result in couple with no children and probably Klyros will pass away first, in some sense having wasted his/her life leaving no children. His/her wife/husband will have a long life ahead with possibility to have offspring in next marriges.
So most like Klyros somewhat dislike idea of crossracial marriges for their kind.
And for Kran... Well, since they are asexual it is... complicated...
I don't think any other prejudges are strong in Yliakum, or if they are then they are more about religion (if Laanx-worshipper marry Talad-worshipper, their children will be raise in faith of which god?).

That's not possible, at all. Kran and Klyros, as mentioned earlier, can't have children with any other race. Kran are asexual, and Klyros lay eggs. This is why it's stupid that every person I see has a Kran and a Klyros listed as a sibling, when they're a Dermorian or something. If you know anyone who does this, explain things to them.

The person I know that does this makes it an ADOPTED sibling. They are still siblings so you can't say it is not possible.

I really doubt even with the full picture that I will think differently.
1. I am looking at what has already been released and more information wont change the fact that cities seem to all be raceoriented and that at creation you also have the option to have grown up in a village from an other race. . This would make it obvious that there are people who are proud of their villlage and couple this with the pride of their race
2. There are obviously big differences between the races. Both in the their lifespan but also differences in their outlook on life. Just think of the diaboli. This makes sure there has to be personal conflicts.
3. Before the octarchs the races even had wars over conflicts between the races. The wars may not be allowed anymore with the octarchs but the underlying causes of those wars can't just have gone away.
You might read this as a bashing and i asure you I don't intend it to be I am just disecting why I feel it is not realistic to say there are no interracial tensions.

It is not about wanting it.
Racism exists. If it didn't, it wouldn't be illegal.
The subject fits into the more general one: how to be evil in PS? What is an evil act or behaviour, how to be evil ICly without being OOC, what is acceptable in terms of family content, that sort of questions...
The thread is also about biological interrogations.

I think, multi-cultural world like YLiakum have or had multikultural problems. Also he history mentioned it, for example the Ylian-Enkidukai conflict. An Enki who lost his parents or their farm and lifestyle because the Ylians build giant cities on the free hunt land doesn't like Ylan much, (AT least i used this in story once).
Of course we haven't call that all racism, but predjuices is a logical fact under 12 complet different races, especiall if soem have prefered cittis. For example, my Character Gohra grew up in a kran-only mining colony and never met any others before he came to hydlaa. So, he has no respect of different way of life. Especially a rivalism with dwarves is part of his background. But he is no racism because leading the Order o Light and learned to live with the others together in time.
What i asked were facts about interacial family problems, mix children often are under descission to follow the way of one parent and these can be different. For my short story i decided to use the Ynnwn version. The femlale borns a black skinned Diaboli and the dermorian father finds out that she betrayed him with a Diaboli lifeguard of his house. So he's unsure who's his children and finally he sent the young boy away, who grows up alone. Years later he's a head hunter without family, withou love in his heart. One day he gets a mission to kill a beautiful dermoian girl. He's on his way, what he doesn't know is it's his half-sister, an there the story begins...
Now i have he answers, if this is possible but i like this discussion, it's an interesting theme.

Thats not true at all. I'm saying that if there is a law against it with high punishment it should be obvious that it exists.
That lawenforcement is a problem and therefor RPs could get out of hand is a different matter.

Hehe I don't mind being called stupid, how about a different analogy. Direct an actor who is already aware from earlier acts that theft is illegal, not to steal something even if his character wants to.

You can pick apart our reasons for the law and the in game enforcement against racism when that material is published.
I can't imagine this discussion being fruitful until those resources are there to be dismantled.

I'm wondering why you are saying it like this. I never said it was unrealistic that the octachs are supressing it and perhaps are merciless in hunting it down.
These are simple discusions on what is possible given the facts already ingame and how to deal with it as a character ingame. I have given several reasons why I feel that no matter what is added it is simply unrealistic to asume racial tensions do not exist. Ofcourse it should be something people keep secret like worshipping the Black Flame.
But lawenforcement and the existance of the feeling are different steps in my eyes.
First step is indentifying the feeling and where it comes from. Have there been wars are there differences in lifephilosophy? Questions like that are to identify where the feeling comes from.
Second step is the world as is. how does the octarchy and such influence those feelings? Are they supressing it? Are they ignoring the problem? Are they using the feelings to keep control by playing people against eachother? Questions like that makes it more clear how the feeling might materialize in Yliakum.
Third step is looking at your character. The first two questions you tried to look at what is possible but now you need to custmomize it to your character looking at the personal experiences.
