Ooh, ooh, let me guess... :D
Is it version 0.0.7??

BTW After the first session the startup screen is much faster. As a matter of fact, the game works great now. Thanks a million Karosh!!!

It installs perfectly for me. The initial startup screen takes forever, but at least it starts!

I partly agree.

The devs have got their priority set on Windows, because that\'s where most users will probably come from and that\'s reasonable.

What I don\'t understand is that they give so little (direct) support to people trying to do their work in creating a good Linux installer. If it were up to me I\'d ask people like Karosh to be on the developers team and give them all the help they need. That\'d take the least time for everybody, make it official instead of something in one of the threads and keep everybody happy, not just the windows users.

Just my 2 cts though.

I\'m looking forward to it. I simply don\'t have the time to download and try to compile the cvs tree, even with the other script, since it always seems to take me a lot more time than anticipated. But I am dying to take a look at the game for myself.

Good luck.

Nice script, but it has one slight problem. Atm you can\'t be sure where the cvs will be checked out. That\'s what went wrong on my first attempt. I\'d personally add the following two lines just above the cvs commands:

mkdir $HOME_DIR/development
cd $HOME_DIR/development

I\'d go for the katars, I\'ll probably go for an assassin like character. My real preferred choice would be the most accurate blowpipe with the most poisonous darts though....

Guilds Forum / BISM members, show your creativity!
« on: August 05, 2003, 05:40:51 pm »
We\'re on a role at the BISM, with not one, but two completely different ways to get rid of your boredom!

1) The logo competition. Since Lokee created the new webpage for the BISM, the current logo falls a bit out of tune.
Therefor the wise members of the council have come up with a brilliant sollution, a competition!
And there\'s more....... you even have a say in the type of prize you win!!
So drop in, let your creativity flow and win that prize!
This is the post that starts it all:
http://membres.lycos.fr/bism1/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=26&sid=5825dd1b3e55fc8501693546fbc6719e

2) For those of you who are a lot better with words than with images, like me for instance,
there\'s another great way to waste your time. This is your chance to participate in the story of your lifetime.
The first BISM roleplaying thread since the new forum, with a mesmerising story, well thought out and
interesting characters and as an extra bonus, a spy.... 8o
Interested, drop by and read the OOC (out of character) thread:
http://membres.lycos.fr/bism1/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=30&sid=5825dd1b3e55fc8501693546fbc6719e
and of course the story itself in the IC (in character) thread:
http://membres.lycos.fr/bism1/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=29&sid=5825dd1b3e55fc8501693546fbc6719e
For those of you who want to join the story, submissions will be possible for another 1 1/2 weeks.

And for all you people who are completely enthousiastic by now, but suddenly remember that you\'re not a member :( ,
there\'s a very simple solution. Join the BISM!

We\'re not a guild and don\'t interfere with them, so you can join both us and the guild of your choice
(as many of our members do).

I would have given more, but I am a poor man.

Your gesture is greatly appreciated.
And since I only had 1 crystal, you\'ve just given me a 2500% increase in wealth, thanks! :D

Yep, same here. Thanks for the appreciation. :)

BTW, the rest of my story will take a bit longer, since I\'ve seriously reduced my computer time because of oncoming tests and to make sure my current state of RSI doesn\'t become anything permanent. :(

No, that\'s one of the things that\'s really only important to the rest of the story. I\'ll probably write a new chapter (or more) this weekend. MOstly because I\'m very curious as to what\'s to happen. This first chapter turned out totally different than I had imagined. The idea that the strength you have in magic is based mostly on the way you perceive your power in your mind, opened up a whole new train of thought. This will make the final battle a lot more interesting.

I agree with that, but of all the stories there are two I like best and since one of them is mine, the choice is simple.

BTW, the fact that I like mine as one of the best has mostly to do with my own pride in the story and the fact that I know a bit of the story still to come :).  Not because of some lesser quality in the other stories, because I think the overall quality of the stories is very high. If I ever manage to finish the full story, then I\'ll be sure to post it somewhere on the PS forum.

I voted for Havana myself.

For one, I\'m not gonna vote for my own story of course(I leave that to other people ;) )

I voted for Havana\'s story for 2 reasons.
1) I like the style and the story, it keeps you interested and pulls you in.
2) My story is actually the first part of a much larger story as well, but I\'ve only just started to write the rest. Because of this, I have gained a great deal of respect for people who manage to actually finish a good story, it very hard not to get distracted.

I agree that there should be rules to keep tiny guilds from taking over the entire world of PS. But those rules should not keep people from starting a guild, just that they have to meet certain requirements (nr. of members, homepage, \'active time\') to fullfill any active role in-game.

So I\'d say, let everybody a who wants to start a guild do so, as long as there are rules to make sure they don\'t become a nuisance.
