The framework that skins now work on is largely new. The release has not been around long enough for someone to have written a guide to creating skins I would guess.

On the positive side, the GUI is -extremely- flexible so should allow you to change most things. Just poke around in the XML files in the GUI directory (I strongly suggest you backup the entire GUI directory before you go poking around), check out chat.xml, seems a logical place to start for you -stf-

Your graphics card is -very- old. Try setting all options to their lowest in the options page of pslaunch. (maybe shaders should be on low rather than lowest).
Update graphics card drivers if you can (make sure you are using the nVidia binary).

I am not sure if your graphics card is good enough to play, but I hope it is. Good Luck.

Try running psclient.exe directly from the program directory.

Some enkidukai would be getting close to death if dates and ageing were implemented. A 6 (RL) year old character starting out as 20 would now be 56 and coming to the maximum lifespan. I could see some oldbies getting quite upset at having to delete themselves.

I would have to agree with Akaiddo, I also suffer from this issue if I run PS on a GPRS connection.
