Yes:

1) Configure your proxy for the following:
HTTP (if not already)
Tunnels to 203.81.47.91 on port 7354 (TCP and bidirectional UDP)

2) Edit \"updaterconfig.xml\" and edit the proxy lines:
Code: [Select]

        1
        your proxy\'s ip address
        your HTTP proxy port

Note that you are setting it to your network\'s HTTP proxy server.

3) Edit \"data\\servers.xml\" and add a line for your proxy:
Code: [Select]

Currently, you will have to put this back in every time you run the updater.  (make a copy of the file to be lazy)

This is what I am doing.  If you need any aditional help, feel free to ask.

This happened to allot of people.  Just hold shift over the buttons to get the drag dot to appear, and then drag it to the right size.

Open your \"psclient.cfg\" file in notepad, or something.  Find the lines:
Code: [Select]
;Sound renderer
System.PlugIns.iSoundRender = crystalspace.sound.render.software

Add a semiclolon to the begining of the second line and save.

As far as I know, this is the only line that needs to be disabled.  (It worked fine for me)  If anyone can correct me, please do.

Yeah, happens every time for me.  Off to bugtracker...

Question:
bugtracker only has up to 3.0.9 in its list, what do I select?

No, effect.

It\'s been that way from the begining.

I went to the new area in town, and aside from flickering near the shadows it worked just fine.  However, upon reaching the gateway out, it jammed.  I wasn\'t even given a memory dump option.

BTW,
Should I post this on buggtracker, or is here fine for now?

My buttons were screwy too.  Hold shift to get the mover thingy, then drag it to fix it.

I think some of the cause is from the new buttons display mode.  Right-clicking can now switch it to a new corner mode, in addition to the row and column modes from before.

My update just finished, and my updater is now back to normal.

I\'m off to check PS now...

2005
My favorites for the forum (in my PS forum profile) are all covered in black.  The only way I can see them is to highlight all the text.  (they still work, though...)  I\'m using FireFox 1.0.4 but this does this when I load up IE, too!...  Is this happening to anyone else?

First of all, type a little more coherently please...

Secondly, there\'s two ways to get past the black updater crap:
    1)  stick a \"-auto\" switch on the updater\'s command
(make it\'s shortcut \" -auto\"; note the space after the name)
    2)  click the \"update\" link in spite of the draw errors  :P
(this seems to work just fine)

Supposedly, windows is currently updatable but other OS\'s are not yet ready.

It\'s about 80 MB, so it may take a while on non-broadband connections.

I\'m behind a proxy, so my updater\'s config file has the proxy info in it.  (no big deal)  However, whenever I run the updater it overwrites the settings file.  (it resets my proxied server info too)  This is mildly irritating, because it makes me have to keep typing the stuff back in.  I update frequently, especially for a pre-alpha...  If anyone can fix this, I\'ll be quite thankful.

I think this effect was causing some of other idiocies during the updating process as well...

EDIT:
The newest version of the updater doesn\'t reset it\'s config file anymore.  (it\'ll do it on installing the new version, but once its working correctly it keeps its settings)  The server info is still reset though.  Oh well, just a minor annoyance now...

Here\'s a sneaky trick:
(assuming Windows version)

Right-click on the program in the taskbar => select \"Move\"
=> Use the keyboard arrows to move the window in question
(you may have to click again to stop moving it)

You could normally do this with the mouse, but you can\'t with the title bar off screen.

Hope this helps!

Yes Kunisch, it is quite possible.  What you just described is what a \"rolling load\" is.  It\'s very common.  Anytime you play a game that has \"no\" load times, this is part of what they\'re doing.  (decent console games for example)

As I posted before, though, PS currently has allot of VM leaks.  Every time you load a new area, it is supposed to unload the   last one.  It doesn\'t do this perfectly, and eventually the leftovers build up and slow things down.  Depending on your system, you\'ll get a popup error and/or slow down to a halt.  This is what the devs are working on first.  If they didn\'t, the extra loads would reek havoc.  (Once all the leaks are fixed, I\'m sure this is on the list of things to peruse.)

BTW, the \"load all maps\" thing gives me a blue screen of death...  (It seems you need more RAM than I have...)
