Aye this is true, I should have redesigned the knees. Reversed knee caps, similar to birds, which reinforce the structure on landing impact. More muscle and enlarged tendons as well, would also increase grip power.

Actually should have clipped the wings completely with such a leg redesign. The reversed knee joint with additional muscle would allow it to leap large distances. Coupled with more flap under the arms would also allow it to glide. (a movie came to mind...can\'t remember the  title...Charlie Sheen and aliens he discovers that live among us... Not scary movie 3 either =p hehe) Some reason it seems more practicle for leap/distance travel.

Hmm, k new design in the works.

Sounds good to me on the model work Z, I\'m still working on a class-1-type-c demon with anim8or, only get to put about 3 hours a week into it =/

Fan Art / CHARACTER - Krylos - Male
« on: August 15, 2004, 09:18:02 am »

Don\'t have much time now with my current project, but I did say I would attempt the Krylos.

Given the body size and that they are able to fly, I had to adjust the body structure and wing size. I would imagine the bone structure being very light / hollow of sorts. The rippled surface of the body is MASSIVE sized tendons that would surround the bones completly as well as give the ability to move the very large wings. Figure 4 to 5 times the height of the Krylos. The flaps under the arm and knees give it fine detailed manuvering during glide mode. The arms and legs are different as they are oval shaped down the shaft, little flatter inside the limb, when brought close together they have a similar structure to a plane, reduce drag a bit. The head and shoulders have a wedge shape so the body can cut into the air better. The hands ended up with five fingers but had a three finger version somewhere in my pile =/

Limited texture was applied, mainly at the head to give a genral idea of how the rest of the body would look like. Again sorry for not shading and texturing this. Just wish I had more time so I could get side tracked from my project.

LOL, yeah I would be too, losing mass amounts of hours in a flash sucks man. I was working on a 3D model with Anim-8-or early today, dummy me didn\'t save jack and it already hit the 7 hour mark. *cries* F\'n storm rolled in, power flashed for just 1 second, gone. Few hours not much but man I had the face all setup to be placed in a head *cries* I was looking forward to finishing the head too.

Other than that I haven\'t been here in a few days, have some hackers around Aussie Land force feeding crap on to my system, so been off the net alot. Norton didn\'t even see the viruses and trojans, so I downloaded Stinger and whamm, it killed a bunch of them. Probably will need to check the system again after this post. Bastages are getting through me hardware firewall too, think I\'ll get 2 more and daisy chain them =/

PS finish the toad Z! =) Start over if ya need to, it was looking sweet man.

Since you are doing Character models, could you do a Klyros? There isn?t a whole lot on them & with your talent; you could bring more depth & characteristics to the Klyros?
Quick link to Klyros page: http://www.planeshift.it/razkly.htm
Anyone else want him to do a Klyros?

Thx, I\'m bout done with the new version of the Diaboli Female and will give Klyros a shot.

If you are a student, I hear you can get a discount on 3DsMax so it will cost you about 500$ or is that Maya? I do not know?

If you are looking for a Free Legal alternative to 3DsMax then I hear that Blender is excellent: http://www.blender3d.org/
You could also try Milkshape & Wings3D

Ack, no not free, need to pay something at least. The company that lets you download along with the serial number does it legally. Think they made some kind of deal with Adobe and Microsoft on purchasing mass amounts of users and then sell those seats to us.
Kewl gunna check out the alternatives as the Maya demo cared not for my system. I had a free one but lost the copy to it during the moving around over the years, it was a really kewl program (Ryhno beta program) on getting supper detail on models.
As for the model I was thinking of making arenas for Unreal. The external enviroment\'s I plopped huge stones onto the surface, submerged some, to give that clump look to it. Could try making randomly sized rocks and layer them onto the back side. Kinda like one layer of rocks, chunky, then smooth them onto the surface with it\'s own texture. Rocks that are small to large, rotate each upon appling. Add more layers till reaching desired density with less smoothing as you get to the last layer so you have a smooth chunky rock appearance. I do remember Dreamscape allowing you to map in such a way that you can isolate multiple textures on the same surface. Not sure if your program has a feature of such.

Morgura pinned it but I can see how it would be hard to reverse the image to it\'s original bone structure. I\'ll throw in a skeleton model of the creature today for more detail for ya. Alot of it\'s bone structure was lost when I added all the flesh and rock to it. Best thing if anything would look at a frog thats stretched out on slab (belly up) kinda like back in school when ya bout to degut it >=)

NPC provides mission\'s to players, when a player accepts the mission their name is then added to it as well as the amount in which they wish to bet. Then that mission is placed under open contracts for another player to accept both the player to fight and amount of the bet. Both players are then notified that they will be entering the arena. A two minute delay allowing other players to bet on the two who are watching in the arena. Depending on Player level, a caped amount of the bet will be enforced, ensuring players are near equal levels. Both players must have the amount of the cash to start a contract and contract acceptance. Winner takes all.

Provides a way for players to test and train their characters in PvP. Adds a little spice and entertainment as well as Quest missions/Events  to defeat either a NPC/GM/Players ?, etc.

They would have high potential as a form of ingredient in crafting potions/spells. A gormet dish for the Kran as well, give something for the cooks to profit from them. Than strickly gardeners selling enriched mineral dishes =)  But ya know it just a slab of processed cow pie with a sprinkle of rock =O

*sniffs at the bag of gems* aye, I got a stinker in there

Zeraph, I been using Gmax, though designed for games that support it only. Not sure if it can dump over to the high end programs even though it made by the same company that does 3dmax =/ Curious if you know any download purchase sites for the high end products. Like Adobe Indesign CS I bought for like 35 bucks, but download only... legal btw. No manual, box or anything like that... Think the company name is Ibackups. But would be nice to find a similar company that does 3d programs as well to download, 3500 bucks is a no go with the wife for 3dmax =/

-edit- non of those, buy now, then get crack crap sites. hehe. Hate for the cop\'s to show up at me door.

Kewl man, I have no problem if ya wanna make a 3d model.  It\'s looking nice and I like the texture/coloring, though the back side gunna be a pain of sorts.

LOL, aye, only thing I\'d do would use arrows sticking out of the plate than swords. I do understand the proper sequence of layers for armor, but when I seen the movie as a kid, it just stuck with me ever since. So much so that as a kid I paused it and went frame by frame with my face plastered on the tv for hours. Probably why I need glasses now....that or my age is catching up wit me =/

K, it\'s in the dvd player again and the wife gunna man handle me for it.

Bah, guess I like big bulky armor like my babes with back... BIG and BULKY =) errr

DISCLAIMER : babes.. as in drawings ONLY and not real life. (love you hun, thats why I married you xoxo)

-edit- nay, never done any career in art of any kind.

Aye, new skeleton model I\'m working on now is true to human. Though it will probably be back to the skinny lil girl in time. EQ Elf babe was... well made to target men similar to the Beer babes, to draw upon customers as it\'s stereo typed that males play more than females. But studies showed about 51% of gamers are actually female, which ranged in games that you would find males playing. Though when Verant felt a little heat, the new version of the Elf female lost alot of...top side. As for her Bicep, I try to add alot when it comes to armor. Like cloth, padding, chain/scale/ring, then plate/over lapping plate and finally additional plate on top of that. So it tends to end up bulking out when all added together. I\'ve always been a HUGE fan of the armor in Excalibur, very bulky (dark iron), though their polished armor later in the movie was a tad bit thinned out =/.

As one rapper would put it \"it\'s hamm\'a time\" I love it, fit\'s in the eco-system in the world. Glad the digested gems form on the outter shell along with crystalization growth over time at that. Hate to be out there collecting red crystals off the ground when all along it was some creatures poop =O

Jump into Class1-a (lessor demon) bottom of thread has an example of stick figuring or could look at it as guide lines. Well thats how I had drawn (stick figures) till another artist changed my perspective. If you can do stick figures, you can do guide lines and if you can do guide lines, you draw some kewl stuff.

LOL, ya should have seen it before I gave a little more back to her. In fact I took it to a point I prefer and the wife said to cut it back a bit. Yeah yeah I like big butts too... BIG =)

-edit- *cries* now the wife say\'s MORE butt, as well as chest, leg\'s and calves.... (think she\'s thinking for you guys) so I\'ll be working on a new one, but fear it will just be a human with horns and tail which I was try\'n to stay away from =/
