Newbie Help (Start Here) / Re: Is this game Expansive like WoW?
« on: December 02, 2007, 10:22:39 pm »
Its a little naive to call something which is 100% free as good as a multi-million dollar game. Games cost that much because it takes years to create such a deep and complex game, much like WoW.

Its like comparing Apples (PS) and Oranges (WoW) only the Orange is a Watermelon.

Linux Specific Issues / Re: Ubuntu Wubi?

which brings me back to my original point...the only difference with Wubi is the slightly reduced hard drive access speed. You can do anything as you can with a partitioned (i guess normal) ubuntu.
And for people like me using a laptop where installing the legit version partitions another bit of my tiny hard drive....would be a nightmare...hence the purpose of Wubi imho.

So yeah, i am fond of instrumentals or beats for the car. Like for example i have the albums of X Ray Dog (the stuff you hear in the background of Hollywood movies and trailers, like Spiderman etc. And yes it is not available to the public, but i got it anyhow :D )

You say instrumentals, so do you enjoy post-rock?  (Explosions in the Sky, Pelican, Red Sparowes)

I've never heard of any of those 3 but yes now that i have watched them perform on Youtube im gonna add it to my music collection  \\o//

cheers mate

Linux Specific Issues / Ubuntu Wubi?
« on: November 05, 2007, 05:42:13 pm »
Hey guys, i was just wondering if the Linux version of PS would run on Ubuntu Wubi version 7.10?

For those of you guys not familiar with Wubi it simply acts as a much more user friendly way of getting Linux on a Windows based machine. It installs Ubuntu just like a program so it can be un-installed with ease if you dislike it (but you wont trust me). Its still in Beta and the only disadvantage is that its slightly slower then it having its own partition. So for those who are interested in trying it out but might have been too scared to in the past, you don't have an excuse when something like this is on the net.

Download it here http://wubi-installer.org/

So let me know if anyone gets this working.

Every single Genre except:

Girly pop songs (like Britney Spears)
Death Metal (like Slipknot)

So yeah, i am fond of instrumentals or beats for the car. Like for example i have the albums of X Ray Dog (the stuff you hear in the background of Hollywood movies and trailers, like Spiderman etc. And yes it is not available to the public, but i got it anyhow :D )

General Discussion / Re: what would you consider a powerleveler?
« on: November 03, 2007, 04:44:41 pm »
A person who will do whatever it takes to achieve his goal.
They fuel the in game economy.
They make the game feel more alive.
I like them.

You shouldn't treat them as second class citizens. Personally i think most of you guys are putting a negative slant on power-levelers but in all honesty without them, there would be little more then a few dedicated role players who enjoy spending their time talking about the few in game events that might be happening.

Technical Help: IN GAME bugs (after loading world) / The grass...
« on: October 28, 2007, 09:01:51 am »
Even makes my very decent laptop lag like there's no tomorrow.

(Just for the sake of humans massive urge to know everything, my specs are 2ghz Duel Core 2, 2 gb of DDR2 ram 667mhz and 7700 go 512mb. However i've only got about 10gb left on my 120gb HD...does that effect the swap file or what?)

Anyway, despite my above average specs i don't think im the only one having issues. So is there anyway to turn the grass off?
BTW i'm running Windows Vista Ultimate, could that cause complications? (not that i've had any specific issues that laugh at me in the face)

Thanks for the support.

The Hydlaa Plaza / Weird way of saying MMORPG...
« on: October 25, 2007, 05:27:01 pm »
Yeah so for as long as i remembered the first time i saw the word MMORPG i pronounced it in my head, get this, as "MegaMorph".

I have no idea why but ever since then it has stuck to me. So instead of saying 'em em oh are pee gee' i simply say MegaMorph.  ;D
It might be because of me thinking (when i was like 12) that M standard for 'Mega' and MORPG standard for Morph....silly me  :-*

Haven't played this game for about a year so im looking forward to seeing a massive improvement.

However the Direct Downloads to the Windows Version claim to be 0.20 but its still 0.19 on the websites.

I'm in the process of the bit-torrent download but i really don't want to wait 2 hours...

How come its taken over a week to update the client to 0.20 and its still not updated?

*edit*

Ok well my bit torrent download is finally done, however now it says the server is down when the ping is actually responding (at about 200ms)
Any idea?
