Mac OSX Specific Issues / Working :-)
« on: February 07, 2005, 12:59:30 am »
Dfryer, after downloading the most recent version, updating using Cha0s\'s updater, changing vfs.cfg, moving libcal3d.10.dylib, libcal3d.11.dylib, and  libpng.12.0.dylib my client finally works, which it would not do without going through all those steps, I tested it at each stage.  So I hope that helps.

Not sure of it is actually an issue or not dfryer, just trying things out to see if I can get it running.  Speaking of which, I have read the entire thread, and when I use Go to folder and type /sw it says folder cannot be found, which is why I asked where I should create it.  Thanks again for all the help

ok, where do I create the sw/lib folder(sw folder doesn\'t seem to exist and would I create it in usr, or which directory?) and I\'ll try copying said file into it and see what happens.  Thanks

I have tried both ways, with Terminal I get the affore mentioned error message, with the GUI I get the \"unexpectedly quit\" Error.  I used textedit to modify the vfs.cfg and near as I can tell everything I save is in plain text w/ encoding.  Thanks though, I did go back and double check that after your earlier post, it\'s not something I would have thought of.

Mac OSX Specific Issues / Help?
« on: February 06, 2005, 01:24:39 am »
I\'m pretty sure this has been posted before, but I have not seen a direct response to it yet.  I have moved libcal3d.11.dylib, I have changed vsf.cfg to match the link from dfryer, I have set the executable bit for the updater and client, and I have the lastest version, yet I get the following error message: Crystal Space for MacOS/X 0.99 r0 [MacOS/X-powerpc-GCC]
Ported to MacOS/X by Eric Sunshine

WARNING: could not load plugin \'crystalspace.kernel.vfs\'
Couldn\'t load VFS plugin \"crystalspace.kernel.vfs\"!
ERROR: csInitializer::SetupConfigManager failed!
Is your CRYSTAL environment variable set?

Can anyone please help me fix this? I would really like to play.  Thank you for your time.

This is the same problem that I and anyar have posted about and is likely a direct result of the problem with vsf.cfg that dfryer mentions earlier in the thread.  He is working on the fix for it, so options kind of come down to waiting for the fix, or rebuilding the file(which he shows you how to do on page 9, though it seems to refer to a different problem). Personally I trust dfryer to be able to fix this, and am patiently awaiting for his solution.

Mac OSX Specific Issues / Doesn't load

Oh and just to clarify, I have the newest version .0.3.006, downloaded it today, and ensured that the lib file was tranferred as per instructions from earlier on this thread.  So that issue has been resolved, I am hoping this is nothing more serious than the known issue with the vfs.cfg.  Keep up the good work Dfryer, and best of luck.

I\'m getting a similar problem to Anyar, no matter how I try to load the updater or client I am given the \"Unexpectedly quit\" error.  I have tried through the GUI and through terminal with identical results.  But as dfryer is working on another fix I will patiently await such :-)
