What exactly is the purpose of a Guild? World Domination? Helpin \'lil old ladies across a street? Manning the Library?  I\'ve taken a look at a few of the guilds and I can\'t really find the answer to my question?  What do the people do whilst in the Guild? Do the go around doing things together, training with each other?
When and if a Mac specific one arrises, I think I would probably join, though it would depend on the purpose of the particular guild.  Perhaps someone who knows how to make a Guild could jet off to the guild forum, along with the rest of us Apple-users, to discuss together what the \"purpose\" (for want of better phrase) of the Guild would be, then it\'d be a Guild more specified to the wants and wishes of its members...which could be interesting... just a suggestion, \'cos I have no idea where to start.  If a mod could make a Mac forum for us that\'d be cool, I think someone else suggested that near the begining of this thread.
Just my tuppence

dfryer:  My thoughts of a Mac Guild were not so much as to stop the things you mentioned happening, merely a Guild that contains only Mac users, but does the ordinary Guild stuff, and as we pretty much have made a mini-community here already it\'d just make sense to continue it in-game.

I\'ve been having trouble getting into the game recently (i.e. unexpected quit after the loading plaza screen). This has been happening since 10.3.8 (no dump to console, either, btw). Anyone else having this issue?

That is quite strange, I installed 10.3.8, and I\'ve had no problems at all, cept lag, which isn\'t a change from before.  Although yesterday, I\'m not sure if a similar thing happened, I was in the plaza after coming out of the sewers and after I actually arrived at the plaza, I got fed up with the lag so hit Q, after about a minute or so, it just quit without the ordinary dialog coming up, apart from that, everything\'s been fine.  Have you installed any other new software/extensions/hardware etc.?
Is it just me or when you go into a new area and it goes to the loading scree, does it always say Loading Hydlaa Plaza, whether or not that is where you are going?
Buddha, do you know if anyone has set up an Mac specific guild, and if you do, do you know the URL of their site?
Thanks,

I\'m not sure if this belongs in here or in the Guild section, but as this is the only place that I can find where Mac PlaneShifters meet...
ChaOs, I think I remember that you said a while ago that there should be a Mac devoted Guild.  Does anyone know if a Mac specific guild is around, if so, what is it\'s title? If you happen to have its web-address, then that\'d be helpful too.
Thanks,

I\'ve created a character but then the game (and also my g4) freezes on the plaza loading screen.

Anyone know why?

Have you tried waiting for about 20 minutes?  I found that the plaza takes an age to load, and an age to get out of, simply because there\'s that many people in there, the fps is so low.  I\'m running a G3 iMac with 384 Mb RAM and a rather poor ATI Rage 128 with something like 16 or 32 Mb of VRAM and a 300kbps cable connection, I\'d expect the loading to take longer on this machine, but it only seems to take about 5 minutes, perhaps a bit longer, but when you\'re in there, the fps, pretty much anywhere except in a few places like the DeathWorld and the dungeons, is very low.  So my advice is to sit it out, although it may just be that your computer froze.   Which MacOS are you using and what are the other specs of your machine, barring a G4 processor, for example, what speed G4, how much RAM, which graphics card and if you know how much VRAM it has (in case you don\'t already know you can find these things out throught the System Profiler in MacOS 10 (all versions), which is found under Utilites in Applications,  and I think there is something similar for Mac OS 9.)
Hope that helps,
