GMs are able to according to http://laanx.fragnetics.com/ (\"Added new deletechar command for GMs\" for 2/20)
Perhaps if you ask a GM nicely? :)

Essa Desgeega

Hmm.  I was not sure about a name, and so I used the random name button.  I must have seen something vaguely like Essa, or something that made me think of it.  I just like the sound of it.
I couldn\'t think of a last name, and so, I used Desgeega.. which is a creature/monster from the Nintendo Metroid series (at least that is the name used in the NES game).  Naughty me. :)  So, I talked to a GM.. and thought of different things then finally came to Ceteeja.  It has a similar sound to it.. so, she is Essa Ceteeja.

No, it is a problem many are having.  There are other topics about it, in the Crystal Blue Problems/Bugs forum and .. probably everywhere. :)

T\'was posted previously at http://planeshift.oodlz.com/wbboard/thread.php?threadid=14536&boardid=11 and perhaps elsewhere.
The brightness doesn\'t seem as bad to me as it used to, though..  Hmm.
The shadows in Hydlaa seem to update during day more consistently, even the sewers don\'t seem as dark as they used to.  Not sure why, but...

Edit: Hmm.. From a little more looking around the forums here, there must be a bug that I hadn\'t seen (as I have not played for a few days), so it must be why it was pitch black for you

I updated my video card drivers, things were fine until I fought some rogues in Ojaveda.  With the first my video skipped, the second it froze until the fight was over.  Ah well..

Edit: Uninstalling, reinstalling and reupdating Planeshift seems to have done the trick. :)

FYI, the colors are in the form or R G B, with 0 being darkest, 255 being brightest.  So 0, 255, 255 would be no red, lots of green and blue (so light blue, or cyan) :)

Since the last update, I have had the game visually \"freeze\" a couple of times during combat.  It has been fine, mostly.. but at least twice the framerate just went down to unplayable levels, the display won\'t update.  I could still hear the combat sounds, though.  After I am able to see again (and if still fighting), some combat sounds play too-soon after each other as if it\'s trying to \"catch up\" or something.

I run the game windowed, software sound, vertex buffer off, adaptive camera.  GeForce 4 Ti 4200 video card (*not* the latest drivers I\'m afraid, I have a problem in a different game with those, hehe.), AOpen Cobra AW-850 sound (is a C-Media chipset).
But, this happened in the sewers, and only after the latest update.  It was fine a day or two ago and hadn\'t happened to me before.

I guess I will march back into the sewers and see what happens with sound off, different options - or after a PS restart.  Or perhaps this is happening to others?

--
Edit: Okay, I tried some more, after some linkdeath/forced Planeshift restarts. :)  It did kind of jitter/slow at first, during my first fight, but it has been okay for about 5 or more fights so far.  Curious.
Edit 2: Another PS restart.  I was in the Plaza and two were dueling,  it kind of jumped for about 10 seconds of their fight, but was fine (at a steady, high fps) for the rest.
Edit 3: Well, it is still happening, even if I have sound disabled.  I fought a rogue in Ojaveda and Planeshift just froze until the fight was over.

I am pretty sure I found Planeshift on http://www.mpogd.com :)
(and I probably found -that- from various Google searches along the lines of free online rpg, online mmorpg, open source mmorpg, etc. ^^ )

Indeed.. I downloaded PS on dialup.  I didn\'t use wget (though I very well could have).  I used wackget, which is basically a GUI built on top of a special version of wget.  I can\'t seem to get to the official site though.. Hm..  ( http://millweed.com/projects/wackget if it will work)

All I know is, wget/wackget don\'t use an index or special file or anything, they just take the file you have so far and add the rest left to download on to it.
(I\'m just guessing as why it would have started all over for you with.. whatever else you download with. :) )

I\'ve pretty much become used to it, but I\'d like the mouse sensitivity to be higher too.  Even if I set it to 100, it doesn\'t seem to be different than 25.
About 5 times the sensitivity sounds good to me.  Maybe with the default still the same though (just in case?)

As a helpful player (I forgot his name..) told me, disable the incoming and outgoing chat filters in your options.  (In the \"Chat\" section).
That fixed it right up for me. :)
