Did I misunderstand dfryer\'s post?

I read it to mean that psupdater now yields a Mac client in version sync with the server.

If that\'s not the case, well of course that\'s fine too. Keep it up!

Mac OSX Specific Issues / This will sound stupid, I am sure.

But: I cannot run psupdater from the command line, as dfryer directs; after navigating to psupdater.app/contents/macos, I get \"command not found\" despite the presence of the \'updater\' file.

FWIW, the psupdater file in the MacOS \'folder\' shows up as a generic \'document\', not a \'Unix executable\' like the corresponding psclient executable.

I already ran Cha0s\' Java updater, which fetched a bit of art and sound, but I can\'t figure out how to update the client.

EDIT:

Okay, I needed to chmod the psupdater file, sorry. Did that.

Now I get the

WARNING: could not load plugin \'crystalspace.kernel.vfs\'
Couldn\'t load VFS plugin \"crystalspace.kernel.vfs\"!
ERROR: csInitializer::SetupConfigManager failed!
Is your CRYSTAL environment variable set?

error, which I\'ve seen noted a number of times elsewhere as a bad vfs.cfg file.

I tried the cvs vfs.cfg and Cha0s\' file, same result with both.

Note: psupdater.app now runs, but it \"Couldn\'t load downloaded register!\"

lol

You should have made that post, Mofy, in unintelligible semi-gibberish (like the original post).

Would have been funnier.

Despite the grumbling, I think the Mac crew thanks you profusely.

Keep it up!

WINE stands for WINE Is Not an Emulator; it only runs on x86 hardware.

Darwine is more ambitious, it aims to port the WINE Windows libraries to the PowerPC API (the Mac\'s \"native language\"), then integrate the QEMU Windows/PPC binary translator into WINE (making, amusingly, the name WINE inappropriate). But Darwine\'s nowhere near done, and if/when it does get done it\'ll be... well, a Really Big Deal.

Along similar lines, Virtual PC actually does make an attempt to run Planeshift, but because VPC 6 can\'t use your Mac graphics card for 3D acceleration, it\'s slower than balls. Maybe on a machine faster than my 1.2Ghz G4 it would work; under Win2K in Virtual PC I couldn\'t get past character creation.

Linux Specific Issues / Possibly a stupid question...

... but is the Linux client x86-only?

Since dfryer is chained in his basement feverishly fixing OS X/Crystal Space bugs (hopefully), I thought I might try Debian on PPC
