In regards to how it would technically work, the person with the highest roll would win.  There wouldn\'t be a magic number that someone would have to hit.

General Discussion / lottery
« on: January 22, 2006, 12:44:36 am »
I\'m tentatively planning a one time lottery.  I just need to figure out the best time and way to go about it.  Also if anyone has a good back story, that would help.  Right now I\'m considering something about killing a mage\'s apprentice for the magic goods he was carrying.  Then a curse and so forth so must give away the loot.

Anyway it would be a grand prize of 50000 trias and a runner up prize of two 40 damage short swords.

I figure everyone would gather at a predetermined spot.  Everyone whose name starts with A does a /roll 1 10000.  If you are B and you see most As have rolled, you roll, and so forth.  Highest two get the prizes.

Time ? 7ish est (-5 gmt)
Date Tomorrow?  Too soon?
Place Fountain? Temple grounds?

This a bad idea, decent, don\'t care?

I actually replied in that post.

I posted this thread because I felt it was a different issue.  I\'m not talking about the rate of gaining or losing stamina.  I\'m talking about the following:

Die with 0% health and 20% stamina.  You respawn in the Death Realm with 100% health and 20% stamina.

I was just asking if it was intended that you not have full stamina after dying or if it was an oversight.

Newbie Help (Start Here) / How to deal with auto defend
« on: December 27, 2005, 04:57:19 am »
If I get something wrong or irritate, sorry.

It seems combat has become rather tricky since the changes.  When monsters initiate the attack I usually stand there not raising an arm and get hit over and over.  I know I have changed to bloody stance because the incoming damage and frequency of hits are vastly increased.  I have tried repeatedly attacking a creature as I get close to them (so that I never see \"The target is out of range.\" message) and this helps a little bit.  Half the time I have to abort the attack all together after taking great damage and never swinging a single time.  I have also tried backing off, clearing the target, stopping the attack, and starting a new attack but sometimes the full defense stance will kick back in before I can start the new attack.

The only time I seem to have a fair go at it is when I am standing at the spawn spot and I attack the creature as soon as it spawns.

Do you have any techniques or tricks to avoid these pitfalls?

I don\'t know if this is an overlook or by design but stamina doesn\'t return to 100% upon death, only health does.

I am curious as to the rationale if it is by design.

Newbie Help (Start Here) / Is there a stat cap?
« on: December 24, 2005, 04:55:28 am »
I was training my Ynnwn to be more agile when the trainer abruptly refused to train further (was training agility and at 100 the stat disappeared from the list).

Is there a cap on stats?  I know you can start with stats above 100.  Is it linked to race?

Newbie Help (Start Here) / Always run
« on: December 17, 2005, 06:12:13 am »
I\'m a bit new around here so forgive me if I post something that is common knowledge.

I think the default for run modification is shift.  Well I was getting a cramped hand so I played around with the options and found that if you set the run modification button to the same key as your forward key you will always run (shift to walk).

I hope this helps someone.  It seems more people run than walk.

I don\'t know if this is related, but the same character with the rising endurance has an auto-decreasing mana bar.  Every time I log in it immediately plummets to 0%.  After a while it will show 100% and then plummets again.

The character was made within the last 7 days.

agi: 45 char: 33 end: 116 int: 46 str: 117 will: 36

edit:  My strange mana bar problem was indeed caused by negative mana.  Perhaps the mana formula should have a minimum value of 0?

My character has 100+ endurance and actually gains stamina when using auto-run.

I started another character a few days ago and it too started with no stamina / health.

You can use the existing shortcut bar to create a \"spell shortcut bar.\"  Just enter the spells in the following format and click on the button when you want to cast.

/cast Life Infusion
