TWO YEARS!!    lol...

So why do we have the opportunity of trying it now?  If barely any of the final content is in place, what\'s the point in looking if there is nothing to see?

Please enlighten me. There seem to be quite a lot of people involved in playing this Alpha/test/demo (please pick appropriate) and by nature MMORPG fans are pretty demanding folk, dipping their toes into and sampling the varied delights of an extremely fickle genre.  So is this so special that it has captured peoples imaginations even at this early stage?  Or are we talking early adopters and fast fan turn around.

OK, so it\'s free....  but there has to be more to it than that.  There are so many exiting releases coming up shortly in the MMORPG world.  Why play this?

What\'s the story here eh?

Hi All

Sorry to be asking dumb questions, but a glance through the FAQ\'s has not cleared the mist surrounding me.

A friend of mine is downloading the client for me (and himself) with the magic of Broadband,  Hurrah!!   (I am forced to contend with the sad old fella that is 56k.)  So hopefully I will soon be installing Planeshift onto the very beige beast before which I sit.

It\'s been a little while though since I looked in on this project and I had assumed that it might be up and running by now.  I see by the various posts in the forum though, that I was a little optimistic and it is still in a Testing/Demo phase.

So I wonder, when the final release hits the web (looked but I can\'t find a date) will I have to hijack my friends broadband for another client download?  Or will it simply be a patch for the one he is doing today.

PS: What\'s happening in game anyway?  I\'m kind of getting the impression from the various posts that it\'s really only a pretty chat room at this stage.  Is that right?

I recomended this site to a friend at work, knowing that this is exactly the kind of game she enjoys.  But she tells me that the client is not avaliable for download?

I might be missing the obvious somewhere, in which case please forgive me for asking a silly question... but when will the client be avaliable to download? Or is she maybe tripping over her feet.
