Linux Specific Issues / thank you everyone
« on: October 13, 2005, 10:15:29 am »
Thanks to everyone who responded to this forum topic. Gentoo linux rocks and its good to see that there are people is a little community of gentoo folks here.

Another note, most people understand this, but if you want to enable all the newest and unstable packages for EVERYTHING add \"ACCEPT_KEYWORDS=\"~x86\"

change ~x86 to ~ARCH for whatever arch your using, like amd64 (~amd64).

Linux Specific Issues / Gentoo Linux updated Planeshift install!
« on: June 30, 2005, 04:02:49 pm »
Good news!  The gentoo package for planeshift was recently updated to 0.3.010!  The package wasn\'t updated for while from the 0.2.010 release, but now it is so go grab it if you use Gentoo Linux!

last edit to package:
:: 21 May 2005; Philip Walls planeshift-0.3.010.ebuild
Version bump. Revamped build process some.::

The release is available as a \"~\" unstable package release for ~x86 or ~amd64!

quick instructions:
update your repository with \"emerge --sync\", then \"emerge planeshift\" (do \"emerge -pv planeshift\" if you want to double check everything before it installs).

note: if you haven\'t enabled unstable packges just type:
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS=\"~x86\" emerge planeshift

CB is looking great and the sharp cuts in the objects don\'t matter! (the make things work better for you punks with old pc\'s!!)

Though, I completely agree that walking off the path is very important.  I hope the planeshift team will consider replacing the tree-walls with an area which we could roam in.  I don\'t mind the tree-walls I saw behind the magic shop as much but the paths show the tree-walls so upclose that it is quite shocking to the realism of the game.

Keep up the good work! I look forward to a wonderful planeshift future.

ahh GPL such a beauty, neh?  I wish there was an even larger number of open source projects available...  it may seem like that is off-topic.... but somehow, it really isn\'t

It\'s amusing to see how people react in the forum\'s to the final message of release and closed testing.  I\'m not saying it wasn\'t foreseeable.. but it\'s still interesting.

as I stated above. I completely agree and do not feel in any way that I should be picked.  I apologize for not being clear enough

I\'ve been around for a fairly long time but I can see why luca and the other devs wouldn\'t pick me. (where do I see who got picked anyway?)  If someone is worthy of being picked, its moogie.  I really NEVER post on the forum\'s anymore... and I only go online once a week.  Recently i\'ve gone online more, but sometimes i didn\'t go online for a whole month. Yet  I remember the beginning pretty well :)  Planeshift is increadible and I hope CB will be a further development of the best set of mmorpg ideas i\'ve seen so far.  For those who have been wondering.. I first stumbled upon planeshift 4 years ago when i was about to turn 13, and being an avid 3d modeler and animator at the time I was very happy to stumble on a concrete project such as this.

See you all online!

btw.. has anyone seen Bill around?

I don\'t want them to get rid of stats, but even though they will... Don\'t spen all your time there.

And I don\'t think that there will be stats in the first alpha release

So... No Worry!

Well, I spoke to NecromancerZeal and BinaryReject.

The clan  Azure Order  has been formed by Zeal Clan and Twtroupe.

Together both Clans are still deciding if the Azure Order will stay \"Azure Order\" or will split back into 2 clans. (Zeal and TW)

If you have and Questions, Comments, or ideas, email me (Toru) at

Toru --> Javadream_@hotmail.com

or email the Zeal Clan leaders

BinaryReject --> binaryreject@linuxmail.org

NecromancerZeal --> pszeal@hotmail.com

I am still finding the e-mails for Twtroupe, if you know them then please post.
