That is a -wonderful- dress, Illysia!  *giggles* I was planning on having a blue dress to wear for Shauri's inauguration and would be honoured if you would allow her to wear that one. It is gorgeous! :D

hehe..what I find rather interesting is the fact that, if you notice towards the end of the text (not the wierd code-y looking stuff), the "awful English" actually clears up quite a bit.  this leads me to believe that whoever wrote it got rather tired of playing the role...or plain got lazy. :)

Either way, it's bloody weird Xillix.  There are definitely some weirdsmobiles out there :D

Very true, Mordraugion, an Enkidukai's tail would be no more prehensile than any normal cat's tail here.  Weel maybe a teensy bit more (a bit more evolved :D) but it is still only for .... balance and very tied to the Enkidukai's emotional state.  If what you've said about the settings is so, however, Mord...I think that feels a little like an end-run around giving any sort of detailed description; just sort of 'here is what it can do, based on this is all it does'.  *shrugs* I still love my tail and Enkidukai are the coolest! :D

For the first time in so very long, I am moved to post.  *curtsies deeply to ShadowKat*  I not only agree whole-heartedly with what you said....you said it very well. :)
I would go so far as to say that if you had the time, look into actually becoming a dev.  They work hard, and have been putting out some really amazing things for us lately; with even more astounding things to come I'm sure.

Anyway, Bravo and Kudos on a brave, beautiful and well-spoken post.

*smiles* hence why i asked to get it in a PM, but thank you Xordan.  i can now see quite clearly why this would bother some people.  it /is/ quite the equivilant of calling someone a m**** f**** or similar.   again, however, i'm grown and i can deal with it for myself, but can also understand and sympathise with those who /could/ find it offensive.

perhaps seeing it in it's context will demonstrate more clearly Malfini's concerns to the other posters who seem to find this debate silly or nit-picking.  it is not.

When I made this thread, I thought the developers would understand. I didn't think we would all argue for 5 pages or more. The fact of the matter is that the word could offend some people and it seems incredibly easy to remedy. I don't know why it is taking so much time to talk common sense to people. It is very disappointing. If the developers don't want to take out a word that could very easily be interpreted as the NPC calling you a "sodomite" that is their choice, indeed.

Ginorey don't forget that the Catholic church accused the "heretical group" of performing sodomy. That is how it came to be known as meaning "sodomy" to begin with.

just for grins, Malfini could you please PM me with the line?  i would be very interested to see the word in the same context that you did.  it would really clear things up, at least for me.

hmm..just to chime in in a way that may (hopefully) clear things up a little, i have just sat and read five pages of a thread about this subject.  nowhere has the line been given so that others may actually see the context in which the word is used.

i personally have used this word as an expletive, and often i'm a bit ashamed to say.  i'm an american and even /i/ know what this word means.  all the other definitions that have been give are informal only by virtue of the word's usage for so long.

if the devs don't want to change it, fine.  that's their right.  it is a slightly minor thing, as was stated in the initial post, "under certain circumstances" this word is used.

it also occurs that i never bothered to sit down and actually /count/ how many times that word has been used in this very thread (discounting the dictionary entries that were meant to be helpful).

call me silly if you like, as i care not if it is removed.  but it seems to bother some people, and rightly so.  the devs have been made aware.  this thread has served its purpose :)

Greetings!  I have to admit that I, too, was more than a bit thrown by the sudden change in Laanx's gender in the middle of Her story.  I have since, playing a follower of Laanx as I do, reasoned out the discrepancy to mean that Laanx has become more...androgynous.  By this I refer of course to the fact that She hides away Her face behind a mask and has not been seen by many others at all in the succeeding centuries/millinea (sp?).

I choose to see Laanx's worship as focusing on Her fragmented aspects.  Those who view Laanx as an angry male God and those (a minority, I'm sure) who still choose to see Laanx as She once was...a powerful and beautiful Goddess.  Her anger and self-pity have driven Her away from those She once loved. *shrugs* Perhaps one day She will become whole again :)

I know I'm not a dev or staff writer or anything, which are the ones you were trying to reach, bilbous, but your post looked so lonely I thought that I might reply to provide a slightly alternate theory.  It is quite possible that the story of Laanx is...incomplete and/or not as fleshed out as it could be but this is what we have so far and I have seen fit to play it this way.

Please, take it only for what it is: just one woman's humble thoughts :D

Even though we have not met in game Kalika, please let me be the first to say Congratulations on your impending little stranger/s  \\o//  Granted, I don't know the details, but it was a fun thing that I enjoyed Rping immensely.

Thank you, Akaye, you are quite correct that I figured the Enki gestation to be about six months (game time); being a balance between a cat's (roughly) four and a human's (approximately) ten.  I believe I wound up playing Shauri's pregnancy for about a month and a week or so, iirc.  Heheh...it's been a while  :P

Also, I did make the assumption that multiple births would be fairly normal, as the Enkidukai lifestyle is pretty harsh to be honest.  But then again, that is completely up to the player.

In any event, each pregnancy is of course unique in it's own ways so do as you feel is best for your RP.  It would indeed be nice to get something more official from the PTB on these things :D

Again, Gratz Kalika! even though it sounds like it wasn't exactly a happy thing to land in your lap, as it were..hehe..Mine either, so I defintely feel for you there ;)

Could I possibly get a move?  Shauri Zann, in the arena hall.  TIA :)
EDIT:  All better now, I got out on my own after numerous tries.  Now I'm off to enjoy the wonderful new world! :D

I, too, am having the same difficulty.  No matter how I shut down the client (whether through a crash, IG quit, or closing the game window) upon re-loading the game I find the transparancy has returned to this new default state.  After re-adjusting them it's fine, until I restart the game.
Not saying that I dislike the new state, only that if I change them should they not stay changed?  All in all I'm loving the new client and all the new content  :woot: \\o//
