Where do I get it, the link on the Download Client page just brings up a bunch of symbols I can't read, and the Bittorrent site doesn't have any Planeshift files on it.

Mac OSX Specific Issues / BitTorrent Problems with Installer
« on: May 03, 2006, 11:25:40 pm »
Okay, so I download BitTorrent, and then I download the file that was linked (yes, it was 3.014) to the "correct" version, and then I even seeded more than what I downloaded.  Now when I use Torrent to find where it put the installer that it downloaded, it brings me to a file with the right name, but when I try to open it my Photoshop Elements opens and then says it can't open the file because the file is damaged or was created in a different version of Photoshop.  Why is the file going to Photoshop?  Is it supposed to go there?  How can I open what I thought was the installer?  Did I download the right file?  If not, where can I get the right one for Mac?

Edit: I think I found out the problem.  I think link I found that was labeled for Mac was actually for Windows or Linux.  Is there a way to download the right client and installer without having administrative privileges?  Anyone?

I couldn't be an admin., so I worked my way around and got the BitTorrent to work after an hour of hassle.  There is a link for the 3.014 client for Torrent that works on a page that I accidentally reached.  It is a PlaneShift page with just steps 1 and 2 of what is under the Mac section of the download page.  It is kind of hidden for those who are wondering; just follow the trail and you can trip on it too.  Thanks Cap'n.

Edit: I traced my history and found the site. If this link doesn't work, just type the url (for those who need it), it should be working.  The URL is http://laanx.fragnetics.com/bt/download.html

No.  Yeah, now I feel dumb, but now I can't get the right PSclient for Torrent (and I don't even know how that program works).  I am just a lot of lost here.

Okay, so it worked, but now I keep getting a message saying that decompression failed and when I try to open client no window pops up and my mouse dissappears.  And when I try to open setup my mouse dissappears and I can't do anything with it.  I am using the app files, but they still don't work.  What's happenin' Cap'n?

Mac OSX Specific Issues / Installation Guide Links Don't Work

I checked for this and I couldn't find anyone else who had this problem.  When I go to the first link in the installation guide for the installer for Mac OS 10.4, an error message appeared saying that Safari could not connect to the server of the link.  Then I tried the Mac OS 10.3 link and I received the same message.  Is the server down, or is something wrong on my end.  This problem has repeated itself for about a week now for all but the Mirror 2-4 links.  What's happenin' Cap'n?
