BitTorrent Problems with Installer
« on: May 03, 2006, 11:25:40 pm »
Okay, so I download BitTorrent, and then I download the file that was linked (yes, it was 3.014) to the "correct" version, and then I even seeded more than what I downloaded.  Now when I use Torrent to find where it put the installer that it downloaded, it brings me to a file with the right name, but when I try to open it my Photoshop Elements opens and then says it can't open the file because the file is damaged or was created in a different version of Photoshop.  Why is the file going to Photoshop?  Is it supposed to go there?  How can I open what I thought was the installer?  Did I download the right file?  If not, where can I get the right one for Mac?

Edit: I think I found out the problem.  I think link I found that was labeled for Mac was actually for Windows or Linux.  Is there a way to download the right client and installer without having administrative privileges?  Anyone?

Sorry, I don't think so. I don't think there's a complete Mac bundle out yet, and the updaters need admin privileges to allow you to run the apps.

There is now a Mac torrent in place.  Unfortunately 10.2.8 support is *still* broken.

Where do I get it, the link on the Download Client page just brings up a bunch of symbols I can't read, and the Bittorrent site doesn't have any Planeshift files on it.

Right-click the link (or control-click if you only have a single-button mouse) and select "Download to Desktop" or "Download" or "Save to Desktop" or whatever that option is called on your version of the OS. :P
