I agree, and i know of many people who reported it "shouted" it. and again i appologize, i do not like the fact that this is turning people against eachother or the GM/DEVs they work hard, but they apparently did not see the scope of this bug untill i actually displayed it

ahh ok, also i just got to thinking while i was dropping stacks of large ammounts of money, i relized they were getting reduced, once dropped, probably a max item limit or somthing so that ammount would be signifigantly lower. 10-20 bill . perhaps the count that was reports was what other people had done


The economy was already dead, what i did was the wrong way to solve it, but it worked when teh right way did not

it took me 5 minutes of prep time, not a long time, i thought long and hard abought doing it, i did not want to, i dont use bugs, but i felt it was the only option i had left to save a game i hold so dear to me. even if it was only for my friends and not myself

Well i guess it was more like 15 or 20 mins but you get the point

also i have no idea how much i actually dropped however 3000 SW's i know is much much higher than i did, i would estimate more like 1000 at most. as for tria probably 100-200 billion at most


Right, because if players had the resources to use all the features of the game as they please, the Planeshift community would die.  It's so obvious.


so what your saying is i should have told EVERYONE how to use the bug to even it out raher than telling no one but those who can fix it?

This whole wipe thing is blown way out of propotion, when you play a game on your comp, you get halfway thru it and LOVE the game, if you have to reformat your comp due to a virus do you never play that game again? most likly you start over using your knowledge to get back to that point, you dont send out emails to teh game saying "i had to refomat fix me and send me a saved game file at this level. they would laugh at you.

So your left with the choice, let the viruse take over and keep playing the game,
Or reformat and start over

Just to let you know, the economy was failing long before this act, and there was a tria wipe less than a year ago due to a Platinum bug
so it was not several year old economy

Well, Well, you caught me.
Yes Friends, I, Eid Frawd, was VIgilante

Im sorry for my actions to all those people who had nothing to do with this problem
and i hope you at least in part see why, i knew many many people usiong these bugs,
and watched the economy failing. saw my friends being taken advantage of by others
but unable to say anything beacuse I DONT SPREAD BUGS OR EXPLOITS, the proper channels
to get this issue resolved were taken, and ignored. I have played Planeshift for a little over
a year, and saw prompt action taken on other , lesser bugs such as the platinum issue. I worked
Hard to get the anvil issue of crashing the server fixed and wasted hours upon hours worth of
steel stock doing it. if we truly are "testers (A procedure for critical evaluation; a means of
determining the presence, quality, or truth of something)
dont you think our voices should be heard? Well after hearing of two months of that failing
and the upcoming update. i saw the problems seemed to be fixed with the new releace. and
i watched these bug users stockpiling money and items in preperation. the economy was already
gone. and there was enought to keep it dead for a long time. i love this game. i love the hard
work that is put into it on a daily basis. i will miss it very dearly as i have been banned for
a year (fine i accept my punishment, what i did was wrong) but i leave willingly without complaint
knowing that the issues were addressed less that 24 hours after my actions. think of how all
this would have been different if the "testers" had been listened to. Anyway i am sorry
for the trouble i have caused the innocent, ALthough they are not the ones complaining, they seem
to understand what i did and why. the more prominent usesers of this bug have been crying the most
funny how that goes.

Take care everyone. lambast me, hang me, fry me, i expect it.
I have brought Chaos to the illusion of order.

I will miss you all none the less.

it, and for free. Thank you all for teh hard work and time put into it when you dont have to. continue to make
this game better. ANd of course thank you to all my friends in game. you have made this a great experience

As many of you know this war has been long comming and we the Sapere Magi are no longer able to tolerate the Outlaws Actions against all of Yliakum.

 War has broken and the world shakes with the sounds of clashing metal


Terms of war As discussed 10/22/06
Terms and conditions
 
!. Duration : In two weeks time the Sapere Magi and the Outlaws will discuss final battle time and place.
 
2. Safe Zones :the Following Area and circumstances are prohibited to engage in hostile activities.
            * Hydlaa City limits
            * Oja East (warehouse area)
            * Load points
            * Death Realm
            * Oja Central (offensive magic prohibited, all other combat is allowed)
 
DO NOT Attack in any way (either magic, melee or weapons) a player who is in a loading Zone and is loading.
 
If You are the aggressor, DO NOT run to a load zone for safety, nor a safe zone. You may however run for a safe zone if you are not the initiate of  that attack.
 
3. War Zones: you may engage the enemy in any area in free pvp combat unless it is stated as a Safe Zone.
            * note Laanx dungeon, arena, the sewers and magic shop area are NOT considered part of Hydlaa and are combat areas.
 
 
4. Potion Use, Magic Use and Stat Boosting.:
            You May: Use potions for Skirmishes and individual attacks.
            You May: Use Magic in all combat situations unless other wise stipulated.
            You May: Uses Stat booting weapons Only as they are intended to be used.
            you may not: Use red liquor mugs to boost End as it does not wear off
No Glitching of any kind is allowed.
 
            You may NOT use potions and / or weapons to permanently boost your stats.
            You May not Use Potions during Main Battles.
 
5. Temporary Truces: This is still a game and is meant to be fun. If a player sends  a /tell requesting occly to the enemy so that they may pass,. A temporary truce is then granted.
 
 
NOTE: Noncompliance  will result in the player being removed from their guild until the war is over.
           
            If a player, breaks these rules, please do not plague that player with tells. Inform the leadership of your Guild and they will discuss the incident with the opposing leadership and take the appropriate action.
 
            Remember this is meant to be FUN, Do Not take any of the IC banter as a personal attack. This IS after all a RolePLAYing Game. As Well Keep all Banter as in character do not make personal attacks.
 
Terms of Victory and Defeat:
 
The winning Side is to be Paid 100k from the loosing Guild
 
A Victory For the Sapere Magi Will result in the following:
 
            The OutLaws will:       
1. Pay to the Magi the above amount.
 
                        2. Make a public apology to be written By the Magi
and broadcast by members of the outlaws,
selected by the Magi, in each location.
 
3. Complete Cessation of Hostility toward the Magi from the outlaws. 
                       
A Victory For the OutLaws Will Result In the Following:
            The Sapere Magi Will;
1.      Pay to the OutLaws The Above Amount
 
2.      The magi will Not Ally with any opposing force of the OutLaws for  a period of 2 months.
 
3.      Will not interfere in the nefarious activities of the OutLaws for as long as we can help ourselves.


**** Additions to rules ****

Stalagtite tunnels and yellow rock area load points are considered safe zones for resting between maps

Also untill this war is finnished, only the Sapere Magi, and the Outlaws will be at war. (no other guild wars against either guild)

Eid Unrolls the scrolls and reads allound for all to hear

 Haunt tells you: On the Cloak of Shadows, by Gerft Freeman.
 Haunt tells you: My studies on this odd obect have been startling to say the least.
 Haunt tells you: It seems that the stories of it are true. Horribly true.
 Eid is jotting down the words onto a scroll as they apear in his head
 Gwinn smiles and continues to listen as Haunt reads the words that have no meaning
 Haunt tells you: It can, in fact, make one person, look, sound, smell, almost become another person.
 Haunt tells you: Not only that, it draws the life out of the person one becomes.
 Eid is intrigued by the writtings within th ebook and grabs another piece of parchment
 Haunt tells you: The Cloak is actualy two cloaks that are joined magically. When one hides under the dark half, he may look like the person trpped under the other half. He alos drains their life this way. When all the life is gone, the victim dies.
 You tell einnol: [the book is being read to me now ;) shhh]
 Einnol tells you: And we are playing the other path at the same time.
 Haunt tells you: The cloak is so well constructed, that it can not be seen. Only two ways have been found to detect it.
 Gwinn smiles kindly with each pause in passage hidding her confusion with each word
 Haunt tells you: One, is to actualy touch it, and pull it off.
 Haunt tells you: The other is to use magic, any magic, directly on either half of the Cloak.
 Haunt tells you: We have found that wearing the cloak makes one ill after a long time wearing it. Sometimes even dizzy.
 Haunt tells you: It does run out of power as well, and the person will start looking like themselves.
 Haunt tells you: But it recharges after a little time.
 Haunt tells you: This Cloak is evil, and creates evil in the minds of who uses it. We have decided to hide it in one place no one will ever find it. I do not like the thought of desrtoying my research, so am going to hide this book in the world of the dead we found through the portal at the top of the tower.
 Eid pulls out another peice of parchment intent on getting everything down
 Gwinn sits smiles bidding him continue, a she continues to listen
 Haunt tells you: With that, I close the research on this artifact from an earlier time, and we will never tell the people of it. Never.
 Haunt tells group: And that is the story.

(Gwinns recollection of her encounter with the killer)

The Azure sun softly begins to shine as down passes its hand over Ojaveda. Gwinn Sits, deep in Meditation. Something is wrong, the equilibrium has shifted. A dark Shadow approaches. Gwinn opens her eyes. There, in the distance, a form she has seen before.
It is the killer. She gives chase to the killer, even though she is still in a weakened disconnected state from her meditations. This decision she would regret.  Through the streets of Ojaveda she chases him, past the gate to the warehouse district. She has lost sight of him. Slowly she enters the shadows, searching for him.
Pain cascades down her body as she is struck from behind. She falls to the ground; a blurred image of a klyros fades into darkness.
Her head reeling with pain, she struggles as the ropes cut into her flesh. His voice slithers into her mind… a name Daehaz. Her Eyes open as she feels him cut at her arm…. He stands looming over her grinning. “you will feed the collective”, He says as he laps the blood from her body. Unknown to him, this mental link runs in two directions. While he occupies himself in his feeding she searches his thoughts for the meaning of his message. One by one the words appear.  :”Dae- Shadow,  annor-door, anga- fang……… “His mind slippery and dark… whirling and chaotic, almost unbearable to touch his thoughts, she presses deeper “Amarath-destiny, gor-another… Hoth-horde, Gul-magic, Ant-bridge”   Finally the words are secured their meaning now clear. Now to find a way out of this, to survive. Her mind reaches out, she sends out a vision showing her capture hoping someone would receive it.   Again he speaks; “I will not kill you... Yet!, you are my thirteenth and soon the others will come”.  Defiantly she utters; “I will not help you”. He grins as he replies; “you have no choice!” He grabs hold of her head, smashing it against the pole. Again pain rains through her as the world goes black.
Again Consciousness ekes into her head. Her eyes open only to see his face once more… As he grins Blood... her blood glistens on his teeth.  Then, a look of surprise washes over his deadly expression; “what is he doing here!”  To her relief it is her friend Alliva, He has heard her plea and has come o her rescue.  The Killer fires arrows at Alliva, … Alliva gives chase. She could only stand there helpless too weak to move, as she heard the ulber move to her, as she felt its claws rip through her. Again the world flees from her sight as darkness embraces her mind.
The murmurings of muffled voices surround her, Familiar voices, safe voices. She takes a deep breath, still unable to see, but this place is unmistakable, it is the realm of the dead. Killiy….. a voice she knows, her friend, and Gharan…. She is dead, but safe. She is free from the killers’ deadly embrace. They summon the energy to heal her, but this only restores her eyesight, something is wrong. She is still too weak. Killiy gives to her potions, as Gwinn drinks she notices the effect has diminished... Then, the horrible realization of what has happened grips her. She is still connected to that madman, he still drains her of her life force, and she now is trapped in the land of death.
Gwinn searches her mind. Desperately remembering the words of her teacher Sapere   “balance in all things, child, restore the balance, this is the true freedom” She must restore herself to balance, but how, she is still far too weak.
Before long her friend Alliva arrives. He leads her to the great hall, a place where the killers’ link will be the weakest. Alliva casts a circle of light and leaves with her his crystal, to stand guard. She must wait for Eid, he would be able to add the final bit of energy that will allow her to break free of the killers grasp and allow her to leave this retched land of the dead.
Hours pass, as Gwinn waits. She struggles to keep the killers pull at bay. Biruno brings with him 13 diamond crystals these would be necessary to amplify the energy that Eid will focus. He places them in a circle around her. Gwinn draws on the last vestiges of her strength to direct their energy with that her friend Alliva had left to guard her. Just when Gwinn was about to give in to the chaos that leached her life force, like a ray of light Eid arrives. At long last freedom, life is within her reach.  Eid then summons the raw energy of the azure sun, nearly destroying himself in the process and directs this energy into Gwinn. For a brief moment the death realm seemed bright, as if the sun where shinning brightly above them. A blinding light, Gwinn feels the link between her and the killer break as she and Eid collapse.  Now at last Gwinn is free.
