The Hydlaa Plaza / now that Blender 2.43 has been released...

as you know Planeshift 3d artists use also Blender.
I'm happy to inform that Blender 2.43 was finally released. www.blender3d.org
the blender contributers and developers have made a giant step forward.
they made many new and VERY useful features in this release http://www.blender.org/development/release-logs/blender-243/
this will enable our artists to do a better, newer and different works for Planeshift.
to create a more detailed characters and faces and do it more easily.

what do our artists think about the new Blender release ?
How do you think it will help you ?
could we already see  :thumbup: \\o// :thumbup: from you ? ;)

Tell us what we can expect in the near future using this new release of the FREE and OpenSources Professional 3d Graphic tool.

at planeshift's new website been written "2007 will be a great year for PlaneShift, because the engine is finally stable enough to add REAL good features and build on top of what we have created until today."

what do you mean by "REAL good features" ?

Do you use the proprietary ATI driver ('ati' in xorg.conf) or the xorg-supplied 'radeon' driver? With the latter it should work.

I use Proprietary ATI drivers ...only this works for me
the drivers supplied with ubuntu don't work well for me
and the configuration with radeon drivers don't work either :(
so if I want to play I stay off beryl :(

you all have Nvidia video cards, but I'm not so lucky
I got a pretty good ATI 9800 Pro , but it's ATI .... not going well with Linux :thumbdown:
so I can't play 3dgames in Beryl. :@#\
at least I know what my next card will be... ;)

2 weeks ago I was able to kill them (the easy one in the city entering and the other inside the city, go search ;)).
but now I am no match for them.
why are their strength changes so much ?

the first time I got to the "cat city" was b/z someone agreed to accompany me there , it was a long way and he even gave me some money.
I never seen such helpful people , I don't think I would do it if I were him at this stage.
it's a very "warm" game with good people.
and if I want to kill a monster they usually let me
only 2 times I've seen a "bad" characters who stole my kills and spoke rude with me.

but we want control.
if I want to make a character that uses big axes with no magic I should make his life paths and states to suite this.
I don't want to guess or spend hours on checking every effect of life path.
cuz I might create by mistake warlock instead of a warrior, and it will ruin my role play.

1. how many/what kind of cities\towns are you planing to make in the future ? (1-3 years).
2. there are a lot of empty places in the game, like only grass for "miles" and some trees , how do you plan to fill those places ?
3. it's very hard to get from city to city as we don't have roads, are you planing to make some roads too ?

when you create a character you must "choose his life" like religion, were he was born, father and mother, who he was as a child, etc...
few of those "life-paths" impacts on your starting states are understandable (mother's, father's jobs) , but most of them are not
if you want to start with axe and heavy armour skills for example, you have too look very hard to which life aspect give you bonus to those states
it's annoying and time consuming , could/will you write in the later game releases under each "life-path" what it does " in game" ?

I find it very strange that the WILL power is connected to physical ability to fight longer and not stamina or some other physical ability/state.
Will is more connected to magic or resistance , but I can find a connection to fighting two (will to fight longer).

I've seen that every race likes a different type of food, and I've read that if not now but in the future the food will give you some boosts but
will there be a point in the game were you will be HAVE to eat food to survive/live ? , if so how will it be done when you will be offline ?

the "problem" as I see it is that you intentionally write with spelling mistakes and therefore considered immature or not a native English speaker BUT you still can make your character very unique without spelling mistakes (by saying spelling mistakes I do NOT mean characters that talk with "accent").
you can talk strangely or in a not a regular way (I don't mean by that that you need to ask the most stupid questions to be unique)   
you can talk about strange things or like you have some illness, there are 1000 ways.... I'm sure you can think of something ;)

great character , keep him talking this way.
we have very few unique characters that speak strangely.
you made me want to create a character unique as yours. (well not LIKE yours ;)).
