hi,
I've just downloaded the new version of PS, i'm running it on Vista Home Premium.
Problem:when I log in to select my character, a model of them does not a appear, just a white rectangle. Also, when in the game, everything, like Inventory, options ect. are just white boxes with no writing or icons.

I don't know what to do now, I've tried related articles but they didnt help.

thanks,
Griffen Mernok

Ok, do you mean the whole XP operating system or just some files from Xp? And where to get them from, I don't have the whole XP system.
Thanks

Hi,
Well, the problem is both before and after world loading, but mainly after.
It says Planeshift is vista compatible, great, so i donwload the new version and find that 'The program running can't cope with the visuals of vista'. I continue and when i select my character it doesn't show the model of them, just a big white box. I manage to get my character and load the world. (Loading screen is a massive white box. no visuals there)
In the game, the inventory, and any pop up windows (Buddy list, options menu, status bar, message box) Are all white boxes. none of the writing shows up and there arn't any of the nice backgrounds that i love about Planeshift.
Also the models of the characters arn't loading properly, they change the colours of the items and models and they sometimes display colours and programming code on the models. The grass doesn't load, they are just simple planes with no textures, and in the areas, little bits dissasappear and it doesn't load properly.
Overall it goes very laggy and just unplayable.
I used to play the game on XP until i got my new laptop. So I know about it and know how it should run, but it just isn't and I realy want to play it again!

Thanks in advance

here's one of the best models i've done, it hink it's pretty cool, and hopefully i'll be adding some animation to it. If it ever gos in game (which i highly doubt) it would be with Ulbernauts i think. The wierd ball is something i accidently added and couldn't get rid of, if you were wondering ;)

I'll have to look into that, Thanks. Your work is very good. Only thing i can see wrong with the sword is it looks abit glossy.

yeah, i've posted the monkey, the sword was difficult to find a right texture with, that's why it came out a bit 'glossy' i couldn't get the colours right and the txture was limited. Thanks for saying that, i'll be able to whatch out for it in future models.

Can you do animations in blender?

yes, i'm going to do some when i get better at modeling, at the moment i'm making a circus monkey which i'll put up here soon, uncoloured.

Hmm, the monster looks kind of... robotic, don't you think?  :P

yeah, at the moment. I'm going to be smoothing it and getting the joints fixed togeher, but it's early stages. I'll be adding some Animation to it once finished aswell, which you'll be able to see. As i say, it's my first ever models in Blender, so i'm still getting to know some of the different things you can do.

I've decided to stop working on the monster and am making things until i find a good one and decide to work on it more.

Ok, i've started using 'Blender' and making 3D models, i'm currently working on a monster model. This sword is my first ever model on 'blender' at isn't that great :-\ Hope you like what goodness you can see in it  :) (monster nearlly finished, i'll post a pic. of it with no colour) Edit: I'm posting the rest of my stuff in reply, so they arn't just on this post. (You'll have to scroll don to find them)

(all pictures link to a full size image)

This is the monster half finished: it's yet to be named. It walks on it's arms with it's small feet held up. It has no legs, just a stump to attach the feet to the body. It's tusks are sharp and used for ripping meat. It's long arms are used as weapons when fighting, it stand on it's feet and clobbers the enemy with its big hands. it's ears are great at hearing and they are very aggressive. They can be found in woodland areas and grassy plains, they also like swimming in lakes.

Enjoy!

here's the circus moneky uncoloured, i'm still working on it, that's why the feet and joints are basic, the head was already on Blender but i modified it a bit.

here's a quik model i did along with the entertainers staff:

the staff i'll put in some other views later

here's a drawing of a bigger build of Enki, he is a mage. I have no name for him yet. But feel free to take the idea for your character in PS.
