Anyway why you dredging up 2 year old threads?

Because people here don't like it when you post new threads while there's allready an existing thread about a subject.

Thanks for the info though. I'll try another character first.

This very same error happened to me too (two years later). And the link above doesn't seem to work.

I just loaded the game, and picked my character. But while trying to load the surroundings, the game says:
"The sector you have entered couldn't be loaded.
Please check your logs for details."

My character is located in a guildhouse.
I've been there about an hour ago. (just before a serverstop/-crash)

Wish list / Re: Merchant - Skills and Experience
« on: June 29, 2008, 09:28:14 pm »
Sounds like the mercantile skill on Morrowind  :-\
Indeed, and NPC's are the kind of people I want to trade with last.
I was thinking, maybe it would be an idea to link the quantity of talking to the training of charisma. Trades happen to talk a lot, that should work directly at their charisma. Just like running should be linked directly to stamina, and carrying stuff around linked to strength. That way you cannot train your strength in two minutes from 50 to, say, 100.

I don't know if it's doable, but it's an idea.

Updater worked here too, now with the .dll added. (Windows XP)

4.01 is a fact.

(09:28:44) >Server Admin: YOU WILL NEED A NEW CLIENT TO CONNECT TO IT

Who knows where/when this new client can be downloaded?

Because an update doesn't seem to work. After an update with the updater I get the note:
"This application has failed to start because OpenAL32.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."

Or am I just not patient enough...  :-[

Sacks... drop them on the ground with items in them, people can't take them because they're in your radius of control, but at the same time they can look with right click, and then view item.

Just like a vendor.

That is not a bad idea at all, I noticed one can buy crates as well. Not for filling, but for building up a "shop".

It's good to know some other games used it before. I say, learn from it: let's implement here what didn't work there.

Besides, it's not yet that crowded here. Although there should be made some "rules" (or whatever) about combining it with multiple characters. We could just let guild be able to buy such things.

and Donari: I know guildhouses already exist, we share one. But the present guildhouses are not suiteble for shops.
And when one shouts "i sell" at the auction, you can't see where you should buy, it's not consistent enough for a fundamental economy.

You mean, like, a giant inflatable potion bottle? Or chair? Or axe? Or something like that?

Yes, precisely. Like a giant infloateble item. I actually don't know if it's possible to make something like it, but hey, it's an idea.

A lot of people here already mentioned the wish for a shop, with which I totally agree.

But I want to add another idea for something like that:
* A shop in the shape of an "item"
  - which can be taken like a tent (or any other item)
  - which can be unfold like a booth (so people can go there and buy stuff)

If this would be possible, you don't have to keep a shop open 24/7. Because someone takes his shop home. And with giving many people such an option, you get naturaly formed marketplaces on places where a lot of people pass by.

Although i realy regret the server is still down, I must bring my most sincere gratitude to the makers making this game possible. Wish I could program such things.  \\o//

Well, I got at least four days gaming experience now.
